I had friends around for dinner on Saturday night and made them lasagne, my special vegetarian one. Accompanying it was my potato dish and a crisp green salad. I have discovered the joys of cooking again.
The eggplant simmering in the pot and watching it change colours. As it cooked the outer skin turned that beautiful share of brown/purple, Aubergine, I think they call it. I made everything from scratch with herbs scenting the house and the oven crisping the cheese. It was delicious and all turned out well considering it was an impromptu meal for our nearest and dearest.
We played Buzz and I felt like a kid again. I lost every time but each time it ended I squealed, “More! More!” much to the delight of the boys who then indulged me and we played all over again. I must get this game for our next dinner party. Talking music while playing the game brought back so many memories, and it is funny with music. We all share similar memories to similar songs, but none of us were in each others memories.
Autumn is here and I can feel myself changing with the season, becoming more homeish in my activities. Soon I may start baking again and making soup. My scrap booking will come out again and my writing will become more inward as winter approaches. Autumn and spring are my two favourite seasons, one makes me turn inwards and one reminds me it is time to come out again. And so the cycle continues.
The garden is starting to take shape after being neglected by endless previous tenants. We have a grevillea that has gone made and is giving us a late supply of flowers that the birds are enjoying. There was a bunch of sticks in the ground that I thought were dead but it has turned into a bush with deep green leaves and pretty blue flowers on it. I must take a photo of it.
I also noticed that the nights have become longer. Soon of a morning when I ride to work it will be just sunrise when I leave. Sunrise is such a beautiful time of day; I like it when it finally blends with my schedule without me having to leave the comfort of my bed early.
I hurt my back again on the weekend literally from shovelling shit. A day off work yesterday and a visit to my wonderful chiropractor and I am back on the road to less pain again. Sitting all day in this chair at work though is taking it’s toll and tonight while Zac is at Karate I might take the dogs for a walk along the foreshore and stretch it out a bit. Tomorrow I will ride into work again, the hill is getting easier and going home is such fun.
Just another little piece of me…..
you make me hungry… & i’ve not played Buzz but my neighbour has begged me to play it. Ouchie for your back & i so worry that you are pushing yourself… -hugs-

That’s an interesting way to look at spring and fall. Inward and outward. I like that. So tell me, because I’m ignorant, fall is coming for you and your days are getting longer? I know our days are getting longer but it’s about to turn spring. I know I’m sounding stupid. LOL!

Spring is the season that I love the most. It is a time of rebirth and I always feel more alive then. It is 24 degrees today, certainly not Spring like, but it is soon around the corner.

I’ve never played Buzz, nor do I know what it is, lol. My family and I used to do the board game thing on certain nights after dinner. Still do occasionally but we all have our own lives, so they are few and far betwee. Oh the simple pleasures we miss. I hope your back is feeling better!

Autumn is my favorite time of year, everything about it. I love that word, “aubergine”. It sounds lovely. And so does the vegetable lasagne!
