This Could be Bad

The in-laws came over today for father’s day. My MIL brought a digital scrapbooking program she had bought. She had told me when she ordered it that she would let me install it on my computer too, but I kind of brushed her off. She supposedly does scrapbooking, not that I have ever seen anything she’s made except for the odd card or something she does with the kids. But she certainly does have enough scrapbooking supplies to stock a shop.

[Side note: she had bought David a really cool CD holder a couple of years ago for Christmas, and he wanted another one and asked her where she got it & how much it was. She said QVC, and she knew she could log in to their website and see all her past orders to know how much it was. She had pages and pages and pages of things she had ordered. It was mind-boggling.]

Anyway. I reluctantly installed the program, then she wanted me to open it up and play with it a little. Which I did. Reluctantly. Until it started to get really really fun. Hmm, I could spend alot of time doing this! At least this way, it’s all free.

Here is one of the pages I made today. Some of the pictures are blurry. Rebecca is in a gray #32 jersey and Courtney is blue #20. I should have put their team names on the page, but I can forsee I will be making more pages.

We got to see Brian and Taylor yesterday. Taylor had been at a cheerleading camp in Denton, and yesterday was her final day/awards ceremony deal. Brian drove down, and we drove up. It’s only a 40 minute drive for us, compared to 4 hours for him! We got to see her win some star cheerleader thing. We went to lunch after the awards but didn’t really get to spend alot of time with them. It was good to see them anyway.

We were out & about all day today, then the in-laws came over, and I never even called my dad. I am a bad daughter. I’ll call him tomorrow & apologize.

I’M ON VACATION FOR A WEEK! Had sort of forgotten about it there for a second.

I read Shopaholic & Baby this weekend. Now I’ve got to read the earlier Shopaholic books.

Our DVD player crapped out, so we decided to buy a VHS/DVD combo. It will record onto DVD, either from VHS or from the TV/DVR. A coworker had been telling me that she and her sister had bought one together to get all their home movies onto DVD, so I had mentioned that to David. He went one better and laid out about 100 of our tapes and said "let’s put them all on DVD". So I guess that will be an ongoing project this summer. I’m hoping that with the home movies, I will be able to edit them on the computer and add graphics or titles or other cute things. Not all the way through, just in places. Or, I don’t know, pictures or something. Just to break up the monotony of the videos. I’ll have to play with it. My new camera came with some video editing software.

That’s a cool page. It can be very addictive though. I won’t let myself scrapbook though only make cards. That takes enough of my time!
