One of the days we were at Jennifer’s, my brother Brian called to talk to my mom then talked to me for a little bit. He asked "Did you hear about my date with the model?" I said no, so he told me about it.

He and his friends were out at a bar one Friday night, and this girl told his friend that she wanted to meet Brian. [side note – I don’t know if I have ever posted a picture of Brian. He is pretty cute & girls always want to meet him. Besides being about 6’3" and in great shape, he’s got the darkest eyes and the longest lashes. It’s really unfair. Unfortunately he draws the crazies like flies.] So she came over and they talked & spent the evening together & he took her home or whatever (he glossed over that part) then they went out again Saturday night. She was telling him about all these places she had been as a model, and she had just gotten back from Rome doing some show, and he thought she was bullshitting him, but she said he could look at her Myspace page if he didn’t believe her. I had to interject at this point and say sarcastically "Myspace page? What is she, 16?" and he said seriously "No, she’s 21." Sigh. Brian is 33. Anyway he said he did look at her Myspace page and there were pictures of her with Nicky and Paris Hilton and other famous (or "famous") people. I asked what she was doing in Ponca, working or what? And he said "She’s working – at Hunan’s". (Chinese restaurant). So who knows what is up with that.

I didn’t ask Brian, but asked my mom, what happened to Ixchel, his off-on girlfriend for the last couple of years (who is only about 25 herself). My mom said Brian hasn’t mentioned anything about Ixchel for awhile.

When I was repeating the story to Jennifer, I said the phrase "Brian’s date with a 21 year old model" and Jennifer’s husband looked up and said "Brian is my hero." Heh. I’m sure my mom prays every night that Brian does not hook up with some 21 year old hottie and get her pregnant.

As I pulled in the driveway last night after coming home from work/picking up the kids, I noticed a car behind me pull to the curb across the street. I walked around front to get the mail and thought "That guy looks like Jaivion’s dad". Jaivion being a friend of Rebecca’s from the daycare she went to until last year. Then I heard Rebecca start yelling "Jaivion! Jaivion!" so I looked closer and it was Jaivion & her dad. She wanted to invite Rebecca to her birthday party but they didn’t have our phone number. He thought he remembered where we lived from Rebecca’s party last year, so he just drove by. We chatted for a minute and exchanged numbers so we could get the girls together. She was one of Rebecca’s really good friends, and her parents were really nice too, so I was glad he made that effort. (Jaivion doesn’t go to the same school as Rebecca and I had even forgotten her last name).

The funny thing is that Rebecca’s other best friend from daycare, Adrienne, who also goes to a different school & we haven’t seen since last year, had also invited Rebecca to her party Saturday! One is from 12-2 and one is from 2-4 so I guess we will make both of them. Their parties were on the same day last year too, I remember.

Courtney has a new boyfriend. His name is Cason. For a while we had both Cason and Deion calling every night, but now it is just Cason. I noticed that the Caller ID shows these boys’ names, not their parents names, so I asked Courtney about it and she gave me a look like "DUH" and said "They have their own cell phone, Mom." And then went on to add "Everyone in my class has their own cell phone." and Rebecca piped up "My friend Victoria has her own cell phone." Geez Louise!

We met Cason’s mom at Open House, she seemed pretty nice. She came to eat lunch with Cason the other day, and they can invite one friend to eat with them at a table separate from the other cafeteria tables, so Courtney ate with them. I like how his mom is a little involved. At Open House, she was acting all surprised, saying "I think my son has a crush on your daughter. This has never happened before!" Yesterday Courtney came home with a necklace that Cason gave her. Not sure I like the buying of presents, but whatever. I talked to her about what it means (to her) to have a boyfriend. I hear "boyfriend" and picture them sneaking off at recess to kiss somewhere. (David said DO NOT put ideas in her head!) But I didn’t get that feeling from her, in fact I mentioned kissing and she got kind of grossed out.

I forgot to mention 24! Last Tuesday night we were looking for a movie to watch, and after the usual argument about why we have so many damn movie channels when there are never any movies on we want to watch, we remembered the 24 Season 1 DVD’s I had given David for Valentine’s day. David hadn’t been too thrilled about them, and I wanted to watch them but hadn’t made the time. So we decided to watch a couple of episodes. Well. I ended up watching 5 episodes then had to go to bed. I came downstairs the next morning at about 7:30 and David was still watching! He got me caught up with what had happened to then, then I watched another one while he fell asleep. I had to go out for my dentist appointment and run some errands, then I came back home and we watched the rest of them. It was so good!! Now I have to search out Season 2. I’m not sure I will buy them, maybe just rent them.
