Oy.

Went to visit baby Reese last Thurs – Sun. It was alot of fun, I will write more about the trip later & post pictures.
I was sick all night Sunday and couldn’t make myself go to work Monday. Plus I had taken the previous Wednesday off for a dentist appointment and to run some errands before the trip, so 4 days off work in a row – yikes. I had 75 emails this morning.
My dentist appointment was great. All my "pockets" were 4mm or less and there was no bleeding around my gums. I go back in 4 months and if all still looks good, I will go back to a normal every-6-months schedule.
One of the days I was at work last week, I was on a disturbing conference call. Our parent company has publicly announced an expense initiative (read: layoffs) and we of course know some of that will trickle down to us. Well apparently, at our location there is a detailed plan of how many people and at what level. A certain person on the call kept asking how we were tracking against the initiative, and other people kept trying to deflect his questions. After the call they were furious that he was bringing it up in such a public way and said if he wanted to talk about that he should have asked half the people to leave the call because it’s such a sensitive subject and nothing has been officially announced yet. So, I’m not sure what to think. I THINK my job is safe, but actually as long as I got good severance & some kind of healthcare continuation, I’d be ok with being laid off. It will be announced 4/1.
David and his dad rebuilt our back fence while the kids and I were in OK. It turned out great. I was a little nervous, because David is not always known for his attention to detail, but I figured with his dad involved it would work out and it did. I was trying to be extra nice to David for all his hard work, but he ruined it this morning.
He called me at work to bitch about the dishes in the sink. He said "You were home all day yesterday, why does the house look like shit?" I was home SICK all day yesterday. AND he was home on Spring Break all last week. AND last night he told me to leave the dishes because "I have all day tomorrow to to the dishes." (he doesn’t teach on Tues) Grr.
I finally finished reading Eragon. I thought it was ok, once I found out it was written by a teenager I thought "oh." There were definitely places were I would think "thesaurus!" (where an obscure or arcane word was used in place of another word that would have done just as well) and also places with an adjective modifying every word in every sentence, which is kind of annoying to read. But the story was ok.
