Not Much

Not much to say, not much going on. Today was a tiring day at work. Our corporate company, in its infinte wisdom, decided that Day 1 was NOT going to be on Sunday, April 1, Palm Sunday. Oh No. But, (in small print), Monday April 2 is still Day 2. So yeah, had to cram 2 days of work into 10 hours today. Yawn.

Work has not been going well. Apparently the announcement about our "situation" will be made around April 13. Until then, every time something goes wrong (and stuff has been going real wrong) we just joke, "Oh well, maybe we’ll be laid off." At this point, I wouldn’t care. (Two seconds later I would have a major freak-out probably, but at THIS point, I don’t care.)

Actually had a very nice low key relaxing weekend. Nowhere to be. It was rare and needed. I got in alot of study time, got some work done around the house, and had some nice lazy TV time.

I read something sad in my hometown newspaper (online). I saw a marriage announcement for my family’s long-time dentist. He is I think no more than 10 years younger than my mom, so nearing 60 or possibly older. He grew up in my mother’s hometown and my grandmother was his 3rd grade teacher. He was our family’s dentist when we were kids and is still my mom’s dentist. I knew his wife had Alzheimer’s, so when I saw his marriage announcement, I was surprised that my mom had never mentioned his wife had died. I searched for her obituary, and found instead their divorce notice. That is sad – it’s hard not to feel judgemental to him but who knows what I would do in that situation, being (relatively) young with a spouse in good physical health but completely senile. (He has told my mom that she doesn’t recognize him at all anymore).

Well with that depressing thought I’m off.

I’m not sure how I feel about that whole dentist situation with this ex-wife. I realize that she has no idea who he is anymore but it still seems so cruel and kind of a slap to what their marriage was.

that is sad about the dentist divorce. my grandmother has alzheimers and it is VERY rough on my grandfather, but he sticks by her.

RYN: LOL, well, she does live in Ok but she’s originally from OH. Mollie was my best friend in high school and we were roommates in the dorm my first year of college.

How could a divorce be legal when the person isn’t even lucid?
