No Sleep Til Brooklyn
I stayed up until midnight last night watching 100 Best Songs of the 80’s on VH1. (Livin’ on a Prayer was #1). I have stayed up past midnight every night this week for stupid reasons every night. I’m so tired.
I decided it would be easier to just invite Monica to stay. I did email her back and said that I misunderstood her first message, I thought she was driving through Dallas and wanted to see us. (That is verbatim what her first message said. I don’t live in Dallas, by the way, so my interpretation makes sense to me). Then I said she was of course welcome to stay with us if she wants. From her reply, I gather she was intending to just drive all night? I think the boyfriend should spring for a hotel for her if she’s driving all the way to Laredo to see him. (He might have a hard time hiding that from his wife. Not that I know he has a wife, I’m just sayin’.) Anyway, I guess I’ll live through one night.
Other, more important, things are going on. My cousin’s son Tyler was in a bad accident Monday. The details I’ve gotten are still sketchy, but somehow he was working on a ranch, driving a 4-wheeler through a pasture, and somehow an electric pole fell on him (my dad first said he hit the pole with the 4-wheeler, then later said that the guys with Tyler said the pole just fell, like it had rotted through). Whichever, the pole fell on him and he reached up both hands to keep from getting hit by the pole, and grabbed the live wires. Luckily some guys were with him and called 911 immediately. He was burned very badly. His left arm had to be amputated a few inches below the shoulder, his right index finger had to be removed and possibly his right hand will also have to be removed, and some toes (where the current left his body) were removed. He is in a medically induced coma for several days. He is something like 15-17 years old.
Also, we got another dog. Sometime I will have to do an entry about my crazy husband. Two dogs. One dog. No dog. No, two dogs! Oy. Anyway, new dog is supposedly a full-blood Boxer but I think he’s got some lab in him. A boy named Luke. He’s a litle older than Pepper. He is a sweetheart, I can tell he’s going to be great. He’s nowhere near as wild as Pepper is.
I’m going to be singing that song all night long. I bet he does have a wife!

Uh, then why did your husband get rid of Ginger? Too bad about your cousin’s son.
