Feeling Better *edited
Drugs are good! LOL Seriously though, these steroids are like magic little pills. I could hook my bra this morning, and I can raise my arm in front of my body almost to shoulder height. I still can’t lift it out to the side at all. Interesting trying to shave and put deodorant under there! But it is definitely feeling better.
I got to work today & talked to my boss until about 9, then called David to make sure he was up for his doctor appointment at 10. He told me he had left his wallet in my car last night & I needed to come home and bring it to him. Grrrrr. Had to go back & tell my boss, um, I need to leave for an hour or so. Luckily my boss is cool.
David had his nose broken playing football a couple of times when he was younger. It’s never been fixed. It always bothers him when he runs and at night when he sleeps. A couple of years ago he was seeing a doctor to try to get it fixed, but he didn’t like the doctor or something and stopped going. He wants to get it fixed either this year or next year (depending on how much we will have to pay & how much is in our HCSA) so he went to have a physical today to bring up the nose and see who he needs to see next. I remember last time he had to take some decongestant for a month and use breathe-right strips to try to see if that would help. That was part of why he got irritated, because if you look at him you can clearly see his nose has been broken. I told him he needs to go through that though so that the doctor can say it’s not a purely cosmetic surgery.
So David started running again. His dad has been doing triathlons, and joined a running club and a swimming club, and all I have heard from David is how stupid that is, his dad shouldn’t be doing that at his age, etc. Then last Sunday he announced "I’m going to the running club with my dad tonight." out of the blue. Uh, ok. He went a couple more times with his dad, but he even went last night without his dad. (His dad is in the National Guard and left for summer camp for 3 weeks). He’s all excited about it, and last night was talking about doing some 5Ks and maybe getting a bike for Christmas so he can bike with his dad. I don’t know what came over him, but it’s easier for me to try to have an active lifestyle if he wants one too.
Two things are happening that have me on pins & needles: today, my exam results will be released, and tomorrow, Harry Potter is coming!! I want to just get through this afternoon!
While I am hitting Refresh, Refresh, Refresh…(exam results are released online, on or about 3:00 EST which is in 10 minutes) I thought I would share this funny story. Our auditors are in for their quarterly audit, and one thing they do is a walkthrough of a transaction from start to finish. For some things it makes sense, like they can start from a premium bill and follow the process from the billing process to the collection process to the accounting process. For the things I do, it doesn’t make much sense because nothing can be broken down very fine, but whatever, they still have to do it. So today the 22-ish year old auditor was sitting with me and we were waiting for one of my huge queries to run, and chitchatting while we waited. She asked if I had been on vacation, and I started telling her about my shoulder. Then she said "Oh, yeah, my mom…" and I just quit listening because LORD, if I am telling you about my physical ailments and you are anywhere near my age, DO NOT start comparing it to anything that happened to your mom!! Of course, I am probably closer to her mom’s age than to her age. *cry*

Well, let’s hope Harry Potter turns out better than my exam results. Crap. I DID NOT want to have to study for this test again. Can’t take it again til May, won’t know results til next July, can’t go to the stupid Fellowship Admissions Course til September…won’t be an FSA until at least Sept. 2008. I took my first exam in May 2000. Never thought it would take 8 years. Ugh.
I’m sorry your exam didn’t turn out well.

ryn: My shoulder is about 80% better today. I blame you, LOL! After reading about your injury, I had to get one too.
