Cuatro de Mayo

The kids were out of school today for Cinco de Mayo. Courtney was upset because Willow had school (he is in a different school district & they were making up a snow day today) so no PS3 for her. (good!)

I did something for the first time yesterday – I watched Lost online! It was pretty cool. (and the episode was great!)

My exam is one week from today. UGH. I will be studying alot this weekend.

I hate when I can’t think of a good comeback at the time, but think of one later. David decided yesterday that Pepper is being defiant and it’s my fault, because I let her get away with stuff ???? Whatever. I won’t even go into his strange dog-rearing ideas. But his comment was, that it makes him sad that he is reading all these dog training books and I’m not, so I won’t know how to do it right. And I didn’t say anything to him, but what I should have said is:

"You mean just like I read all the parenting books, and you don’t, and so you don’t know how to raise your children???"

Not that I think he doesn’t know how to raise his kids, but just to point out that I think I can manage training a dog without reading everything out there.

The funny thing is, I have probably read more of the dog training books than him. He reads one, believes everything in it and follows it to the T, until he reads the next (contradictory) one and then changes everything. I read them all and then do what makes sense.

[We gave our other puppy Ginger away. She was cute, and I was a little sad, but on the other hand I didn’t even want one dog much less two. David found a couple whose older Boxer was dying of cancer and they wanted a Boxer puppy before he died, to get their other dog acclimated to the new dog.]

I spoke at Career Day yesterday. It was way more trouble than it was worth and I only ended up getting to talk for 10 minutes. But my boss did tell me to take the rest of the day off & study, so that was good, and I got to pick up the girls from school which was fun. So no complaints I guess!

No plans for the weekend other than study study study.

That would have been a good comeback, LOL! I hate when I think of good comebacks later too. I think boy dogs are easier than girl dogs. Every female we have ever had (or friends and families have had) have always seems a little more hyper than the male dogs.
