No

Unfortunetly my son did not make it into Pharmacy school this year.  It usually doesn’t happen the first time unless you did extremely well in the interview.  It was a no for alot of first timers.  They threw out there grades, GPA, and PCAT scores and just went by the interview and they had to take an Ethics test.  Only five questions but very difficult ones.  Here is an example of one of the questions.  You have a woman with stage 4 cervical cancer that is terminal.  She is saying she is in pain and wants more morphine, yet you know giving her more would kill her.  What would you do?  Very difficult to answer, not sure there is a right or wrong answer but who wants that on their shoulders?   I think I would have switched jobs after that question.  There is no way I would want to be responsible for someone’s death ever!

So we will wait and apply again next year and apply at more schools.  He really wants to stay where he is so he only applied there.  Anyway it’s not a bad thing and he will just take some more biology and chemstry classes.

Applied for a temporary job and for the summer and just waiting to hear about it.  If I get it great if not it’s ok too.  It was a job my sister had and she told to apply. I really didn’t want to but I figured I would.

Well off to vacume and hang out clothes on the nice day.

Take care-

it is a difficult thing to decide. thankfully, before raymond died he did an advance directive, saying he didn’t want heroic things to be done to keep him alive. the doctor told me that the amount of pain medicine that was needed to keep him painfree would probably be enough to kill him. he died 2.5 days after they started giving him pain medication thru an iv needle. i knew the pain meds would kill him but he wanted to be out of pain. so, i would say… give the woman the pain meds. the cancer is terminal so her last hours/days/weeks should be as painfree as possible. good luck to your son on applying next year. take care,

I hope he has better luck when he applies again.

RYN: I LOVE spicy! 🙂 The recipe called for 5 or 6 different spices, which I used. One of the spices was chili powder. In hindsight, I probably couldn’t used more of that than the recipe called for. Eric

Interesting take on the kid’s application for pharmacy. Thanks for your note which also told me you and family are home safe again this year. From vacation in Mexico. I don’t keep track of everything much. Stay well.

Ah, well…I hope he doesn’t have to wait too long to get into Pharmacy school. RYN: TWO grandbabies! Both girls! Audrey is due in July and Kevin’s fiance, Jesi, is due in August! We are all excited!

RYN it is a fiber glass tub so it isn’t heavy. The stairs are 40 inches wide so there is plenty of room to bring it up there.
