The doctors discovered the unknown syncope, fainting, to be Long QT Syndrome, also known as Sudden Death Syndrome. It could be treated with proper medication and care.  We knew there was a possibility she could die, but she did what was necessary to take care of herself

Gradually she began to let go of her fear and live life in the now. She accepted her mortality and refused to let it dominate her life. She had a joyous passion for life. She would fight hard against anything that made her mad of sad. She especially took on causes that affected her friends. Her friends were her family. She excelled in Debate and Drama, in and out of school. Her life began to take on special meaning and she was very happy. Grades actually came up.
