loss

This holiday is difficult.  I have the usual sadness, but also some additional grief.  A friend of mine was killed by her husband in a domestic violence crisis.

It brings such sadness.  She was so close to being free.  He was going to be served on Tuesday.  He killed her Sunday.

I find myself rushing through the holiday trying to get it over.  I have two more gifts to deliver.  

I know from experience I must walk through this, but it really sucks.
