Surgery done and in the past!
So the past 3 days have been pretty hectic. I have been off work, but chasing after a 16 month old is a full time job in itself lol.
Mason had his surgery Monday. I was a nervous wreck! I didn’t sleep at all the night before. I think I was more afraid of not waking up in time lol. I was up and going around 5 and got Mason ready. He was pretty grouchy because he was hungry his favorite time of the day is waking up and eating breakfast and I couldn’t give him anything. We got to the hospital and there was no waiting time. They started getting him ready the minute we got into the room. His dad showed up with his girlfriend. Which was kind of awkward but it was alright. She’s really nice and I think she’s been way good for him because I think he’s finally getting his priorites straight. She’s way cute too! LOL I actually sensed a bit of jealousy coming on for a minute lol. Not really of her…but of them..and the fact that he’s everything I wanted him to be when I was with him but we couldn’t get our crap together. They seem really happy and I’m truly happy for them. Anyways. Mason actually went in a little early. They got him in the cutest little hospital gown, gave him some medicine that makes it so the whole process is a little less traumatic and he doesn’t remember anything. Then we walked him back as far as they’d let us go. We went and sat back in the room. At this point in time his girlfriend had left, but it was a little odd. We just kinda chit chatted and then my mom showed up. We sat there and talked about this and that and what not. Then his parents showed up, which I’ve always gotten along with them real well. It took about an hour and a half, but then the dentist finally came in and everything went fine. He did really well. They ended up having to pull his front two teeth, and putting caps on the two next to them, he had 4 root canals and a filling. Poor Kid! I haven’t been able to help but think there is something I could have done to prevent all of it. Come to find out his dad had the exact same thing done. He wasn’t quite that young, but it makes more sense now. I mean the kid doesn’t eat a lot of sugar or sweets..not a whole lot of juice. I know there are some things I could have done to prevent it, but it still would have happened eventually. So he’s my little vampire child. LOL with the caps and the two front teeth missing his teeth look a little bigger than usual so…he has fangs lol. I’ll have to post some pics he’s so darn cute. Anyways they finally brought him in and he was still real out of it. Mostly hungry though lol. They let him start eating right away. He had some juice, some water, jello, pankcakes and a milk shake. He was so doped up lol. He looked drunk. They gave him morephine??? I was like holy crap. But we weren’t there very long. We went to get ready to leave and he threw up everywhere…so we stayed a little longer and then went home. He’s done really well since, and he’s bounced back to even better and more energetic than before.
It was nice spending the last 3 days at home with him. We had a lot of fun. But I am ready to be back at work lol. As hard as it was to get up this morning I needed to get back.
Anyways. I think that’s about it for now. I’ll try and post some pics a little later.
Awww poor guy! I’m glad everything went well!
