New Truck…Maybe

I just can’t keep up. I’ve been real tired lately. This past week has been kinda blah….I dunno. Work’s been pretty busy. The wheels in my head have been cranking constantly. LMAO….it’s been working overtime. Speaking of overtime I got my pay check yesterday. $600!!! Yay..go me. That’s the best check I’ve ever had. I had like 6.5 hours overtime, but still. I’m not complaining. I finally got my check from my old job too…I had $750 days. I needed it to get caught up…when I say that I mean just get my savings started again. I don’t really want to go through and update each and every day….really there wasn’t a lot that happened this week. Thursday night we ran uptown to get some ice cream and when we went buy there were people looking at the 04 F150 that we beefed up with accessories…when we came back we drove through there and there was more people looking at it…it’s looks nice. Anyways, Matt found this 93 F150 that he wanted me to check into. I found out a little bit about it…it had 129,000 on it…not bad for a 93…it has the Staight 6 though and I didn’t thi nk Matt would go for that…and at first he was a little iffy, but he’s had a couple in the past and his last one went 270,000…can’t beat that. The problem is we thought it’d been wrecked because it’s been re painted. No one knew anything about it except for Cody so I asked him about it…and told him to honestly tell me if it’d been wrecked. I guess the story he was told…and it makes sense because we can see a bit of orange paint..is that it used to be white with orange flames on it and then when the old folks bought it that traded it in they re painted it to get rid of the flames. It’s a real pretty color, BUT they didn’t paint under the hood or under it anywhere..OR the door jams and what not. SO it looks kinda silly. I drove it over to Matt’s work and it drives REAL nice. I mean runs great…the transmission(it’s a 5 speed) shifts great. After driving it longer distances at higher speeds it smells like it’s burning oil..or got an oil leak..more like ooze Matt says. SO when I take it back to them today I’m going to say hey..he all but wanted to come in and buy it from you today BUT he’d like to know what’s up with the oil smell so is there anyway you can have someone look at it Monday. I don’t know if they will, but it’s worth a shot. My bet is it’s the Valve Covers, but who knows. I could be wrong I ain’t no mechanic, but Matt even said the same thing. Which parts wise is real cheap to fix….but Matt says it’s a pain in the butt to get to them with that engine and so my guess is to pay to have someone do it the labor would suck. I dunno It’s a real nice pickup and I’d like to see him get it because it’s just him. I mean …I dunno. I tried talking him into getting some chrome for it (I’m a chrome freak…you should see my car..and if I could I’d get more) anyways, he says no, he likes it just the way it is. I DID talk him into at least a bug sheild and I’m TRYING for a bed liner…he doesn’t like the drop in ones because they are slick when they get wet….BUT around here you can get the spray in ones for the same price..and they’re a better quality. SO…we’ll see. I guess we better see if they’ll take a look at it Monday…THEN we gotta get the loan approved at the credit union…which won’t be a problem…oh yeah…I never mentioned that we can get it for $3,800…not too bad. I think we’ve decided to keep his car around though. It’s so cheap to have around. I mean it’ll be paid off soon..it gets 40 miles to the gallon and once it’s paid off and we can just get liability insurace on it it will be way cheap. My car is currently for sale…has been for a couple weeks and no luck. Haven’t even had a call. Darn it…
