My Thanksgiving Happenings!
I thought I’d be able to leave an entry before this but I ended up not having as much time as I thought. Thanksgiving turned out alright. It was a lot different for me because I’m used to visiting my family and we ran out of time :o( I was hoping that because we spent all the time in Poky that for Christmas we’d just stick around here and maybe go to Poky the weekend after. From the sounds of it Matt wants to spend Christmas there too! Which okay I can kind of understand because Matt’s mom is going to be moving to Boise pretty soon. Probably by February. Then it will be harder for us to go visit. We will take time to go visit, but just not as much as we do now. Like I said I understand….but what about my family? We knew the day we got married this would be an issue. We each have 2 different families to visit for holidays. I sacrificed Thanksgiving because there wasn’t as much going on for my familes. My dad was at my grandmas and she usually has a pretty big dinner with all my dad’s family. It turned out this year to be just him, my two sisters, my grandma, my grandpa, two of my uncles and my aunt…there’s usually at least 4-5 more people..no including us…we figured we could go visit them the day after when more people were going to be there. Then my mom was going to my step-dad’s parents house, which we were invited, but I would have felt weird and so would Matt. So I just figured we’d go visit my mom on Friday or Saturday…well guess not because they were hunting all day Friday and I think they went today too…I tried calling, but no one answered the house phone or her cell phone.
Anyways, enough about that. Back to Thanksgiving…
We got up pretty early Thursday and got ready and then called Bob to make sure he was ready and then we went and picked him up and headed to Poky. We got there and just hung out with his mom and step dad for a bit. Normally we just eat there and it’s me, Matt, Matt’s mom, Matt’s step-dad, Bob, Matt’s other brother, his wife, and then Matt’s sister..she has a boyfriend not too..so I thought he might be there, but I guess them two went to like Californian instead. Matt’s one brother stopped by, but not to eat because his wife was at home with her parents fixing dinner because Timmy (Matt’s brother) has no other family in Pocatello…yeah that set well with Matt’s mom and step dad….Matt’s brothers in laws are strange people…her dad comes across as an ass…I don’t want to be judgemental, but so far that’s the impression I get….anyways so he was only there for a few minutes…
Then when everything was ready to go we went over to Matt’s step dad’s brothers house. I didn’t know ANYONE THERE! It was crazy, but the food was good…we sat around visiting for a while and then ate..then talked some more..I got really bored, but didn’t want to be rude. We ended up staying there until about 5 and then went back to Matt’s mom’s house and visited for a little while longer and then we headed home. I was hoping to make it back in time to go out and visit my grandma and everyone because they told us to stop by when we got back. I got home and called them and there wasn’t anything going on so we told them we’d be out Friday. We just came home watched some TV and then went to bed.
Well that’s my Thanksgiving….I’ll write again soon about my Friday!
Leave me lotsa notes!
