My dad, K, and the kids!

Things haven’t slowed down around here one bit, but I think I am adjusting. My patience is definitely getting better LOL. I really need to try and write daily, so much is going on with the kids they are learning and growing everyday and I want to keep it recorded. I hate it when Kaeleee does something knew and I try and think back to when Mason did it and I can’t remember. She’s talking so much it’s crazy! I have been working a lot with her on signing and she totally blew me away this past weekend. I won’t take FULL credit for it because I’m not so sure the daycare didn’t work with her a little bit while she was there. But last week I showed her “more” ONCE…and on the way home from a visit with my aunt and uncle she was eating some muffin and clearly signed “more” when I wasn’t giving it to her fast enough. I was so excited, my dad and K thought I was crazy, but I had only showed her ONE TIME…so I really think the daycare has worked with her, but since then she signs “eat” and “all done”. She’s a smart little stinker.
I have been working with Mason more on his ABC’s and counting and I get the impression he’s going to catch onto math quite easily, like his momma lol. He understands the concept of adding and subtracting. I loved his daycare/preschool, I wish I could have kept them in, but at least they have a good basic structure and I have the time to keep up with it and teach them more and more. I want to find some activities for them to do while we are at home, daily. I hate when they complain of being bored because I don’t want them watching tv and they get tired of playing with their toys. I want small activities they can do that will help them grow and learn…so any ideas are definitely appreciated.
K and I are…doing better…this past weekend and the trip we took to see my aunt and uncle…it was only like 3 hours away, but it was nice. K and my dad…well and my uncle ended up pretty drunk. I went to bed when an argument started getting kinda heated between my dad and K…there is kind of a history there…save for another entry….and I eventually went outside when I thought I heard them arguing, but they were both just drunk and have voices that carry lol. They ended up staying up til around 4 talking…good talk…deep talk. It was kind of a relief to me because K and my dad used to be very close, but they got it all kind of squared away and feelings out..and my dad actually told K that he looks up to HIM because of how he is with the kids and how hard he works and helps me out at the same time. My dad was a trucker and was gone a lot of the time so he was never really home to spend time with us, he told K that if he could go back he would do it all over again. Anyways, point is, it got me thinking of how much I might be taking K for granted sometimes when I get irritated with him and some of the things we fight about. Things have been better since then but I have really been concentrating on my reaction to some things.
Anyways I have to cut this short because kids are getting tired and I have brownies in the oven!

You could make christmas cards with them. I’m trying to think of things to do with mine when we’re home too but mostly the things I come up with are for going out places.

I’m glad the kids and all are good, patience getting better is definately a good thing. There are times when I feel like I take my guy for granted, and then there are times when I know he takes me for granted. Something to talk to about later on when the whole world can’t see. Trying to think of things to do with the kids…

I just thought of something…actually my son gave me the idea!! We bought him magnetic letter and numbers a few months ago. He was a very fast learner and knew his ABC’S and could count to 20 by the time he was 2, so we thought letters and numbers would be great. Well…he stopped playing with them. Until last night. Now all of a sudden he wants to make words and numbers! They aren’t that much…

I think they were maybe 5 bucks at Dollar General. And it would be great for your daughter as well. She could get a jump on the letters and numbers. Only thing is, you’d have to get at least 2 packs to be able to do doluble lettered words. We are having that issue tonight lol. Hope this helps!! 🙂

RYN: I’m glad you enjoyed it!! I definitely did. My daughter couldn’t get enough of it! I’ll be posting a recipe for pumpkin spice (or pumpkin coconut) bread within a few days. I have a recipe for double pumpkin beer bread, too. I like beer bread and my husband likes pumpkin bread, so I think that will be a good one to try.
