Gift of giving *edit

One of the girls at my work told me Tuesday that her husband lost his job on Monday. They have 4 children and made too much to qualify for just about anything but childcare through the state. So I am kind of organizing a collection of money to help them. Most people were all about it but there were a couple people that were really shitty about it.

One guy said they shouldn’t have that many kids and he wouldn’t donate because he didn’t know why he lost his job and if he lost his job would we donate money to him? My boss half joked that we would just put money on his tab at the bar.

Another guy said “so are they going to donate money to me and you too?” his woman was in rehab and just got out, obviously Terry is still in jail.

Some people have even given 20-40 to help which is so awesome. I cleaned out my pantry and gave them almost all the food in it because there really was too much for me and Avery.

Also, at work we are doing a gift exchange and some people complained that the 20-25 limit was too much. Seriously, then don’t do it.

I just don’t get people and their shitty attitudes. Helping others (if you’re able too) makes everything better.

And we are hoping to hire a new lawyer Tuesday, we have a meeting with him. Terry has almost given up hope. We miss him. I will be blessed when we are all back home together. Maybe I will even let him marry me sometime. Hahaha.

*edit* So I completely forgot to mention that Avery is starting to be interested in potty training. This morning he went when he got up and the other night he went lots in the portable one downstairs. He prefers to just walk around in a shirt now. Silly boy. I think he might be entering that nudist stage, hahaha.

I hate that! I had a friend who lost her job and came to me and others for $$ cause she couldn’t pay her rent. She promised to pay it back. Me and others gave but one ‘friend’ was like : she’s always broke, if I asked her for rent I bet she wouldn’t be able to give me anything and I bet she won’t really pay us back so why should I?’ And she’s the ‘religious’ one!!! I was shocked by her.

What comes around goes around…and we all learn that lesson one way or another at sometime. Sorry to hear about this couple’s misfortune, and I hope something will come along to help them overcome. Nice of you to help all you can in the meantime…*HUGS*

Good luck with Avery’s continued efforts….that’s always a busy time, but the reward is worth the effort.

It’s amazing the way money brings out people’s true colors so quickly, isn’t it?How’s the collection going for the family?
