Things and a Birthday
Photobucket has been less than cooperative, so pictures will have to wait. Sorry about that.
We are inching our way to being done with our adoption application. Eric has to make copies of Nala’s papers and my sister and brother-in-law have to sign the alternative caregiver paper. Then our part is pretty much done. I’ve been trying to get a hold of our case manager for a couple days, but hadn’t gotten a response. Then I found out this afternoon that she is no longer an adoption specialist and has a different job within the agency… SO we have a new case worker. Basically now we have to wait until the new lady reads up on all her cases and gets familiarized with our file. She may or may not have to complete her own home study, even though we already did that with the other lady. I’m just annoyed because we’re kind of at a stand-still and there is a specific child we want to inquire about. Yes, there is a girl we are very interested in!! However, we can’t technically be considered until our application is complete and we’ve completed the PRIDE adoption courses… which I’m still waiting on that schedule so we can sign up for them. In certain circumstances they will consider adoptive parents before training is complete, but it’s rushed and difficult to do.
le sigh.
Did I mention there is a child we’re interested in…? We’ve been interested in a child or two here and there before, but this one is in our state. I don’t want to post a link to her information here just yet and jinx it or anything. As sad as it sounds, we’re hoping she stays put until we’re being considered in addition to any other parent(s) who may be being considered. I will say that she is 11 years old, loves animals (especially horses), and would do best in a home with children either a few years younger or a few years older than she is. She says, "I would like to have a forever family that will spend time with me and ride horses together."
Jamie and Sue are all moved into their new home, so hopefully they will dive into the surrogacy soon. I haven’t had a chance to talk to Sue in detail yet- only short conversations assuring me it’s still on- so I don’t know how close they are to choosing a new egg donor. I suspect not very. I’d like to get the show on the road, just out of timing concerns for me being able to get to frequent appointments. We’ll make it work regardless… it would just be easier if it were sooner than later, because once summer comes I’ll have the kids a lot more.
p.s. Happy 58th to you-know-who…
I wish I could foster adopt and have my own I hope things work out for you x

Yea it would really make sense to start a surrogacy in the late winter/early fall so for most of the pregnancy you had some down time when the kids were in school, right? It’s all very exciting! The adoption and surrogacy. Blessings 🙂
