Grandma L. passed away today. She waited until after the big family Easter dinner. She was 85 years old, and married to Grandpa for 61 years.
Abigail had a physical a couple days ago. Austin has his this afternoon. Abby has to have her thyroid officially tested. My long-time readers may remember that she has trouble maintaining her body temperature occasionally. She was hospitalized with hypothermia at 14 months for no reason whatsoever, and has had some incidents since then. They drew blood to test her thyroid back then, but it was inconclusive, and the other blood sample wasn’t good so they never retested. So that will be taken care of soon. She’s also been referred to a pediatric cardiologist. She has an irregular heartbeat (we’d been told this before, too), coupled with some other things (her hypotonia [low muscle tone], tendency to tire very quickly, etc.), so the doctor feels it would be best to see a specialist to see if there is anything serious going on.
Eric is working, so I get to take both kids to Austin’s appointment later.
Edit: Austin was a lovely little terror (not really, but he was extremely loud) at his check-up, but his pediatrician is very understanding. She has a daughter who attends Austin’s school. He is fine aside from his extreme weight gain in the last little while. Ugh.
I’m sorry about your grandma.

I’m sorry about your grandma. Random Michigander here. I used to do respite care for a family who had a little boy with autism. He was non-verbal at the time, I’m not sure if he is talking now or not. It’s always good when people are understanding. I remember one time when i took the kiddo to Meijer to run around because it was too cold to go anywhere else, and he darted behind the photo counter. And of course, he was on the RUN so I couldn’t say “he has autism, sorry!” I just had to keep up with him.
