This and That

Dear Diary,

Yesterday was mom’s 83rd birthday and I took her out to dinner at her favorite restaurant. My younger sister came along. We had a great time.

It’s amazing how mentally strong she is. She can talk about anything and her memory is very sharp. I hope I inherit this gift from her.

Other matters:

I am now living above NO ONE! The man with the two 4yr. twin boys FINALLY moved out. Thank goodness for small favors. I can actually enjoy eating a meal now without yelling and jumping by children.

The weather has been very cold but I really love the cold air. I walked 9 miles yesterday in the woods and it was beautiful and invigorating and relaxing. I dressed for it and the only thing cold were my lips. I brought my cell phone with me just in case and funny as it sounds I received 4 phone calls while walking. They must have known LOL.

My son called me and told me that my grandchild is a boy. The baby is due June 24th and it is exciting now that I know what it is. I’m so happy to be a grandparent to my grandson. Wow, I thought I’d never say those words.

I went to the doctor last week and I am having another "flare up" with lyme disease. My back has been hurting, some headaches, tingling in hands and feet and I sort of knew. I took care of business before I even went to see her so already I am starting to feel much better and the symptoms are slowly diminishing. Another THANK GOD FOR SMALL FAVORS.

School is going well and my student teacher will start Tuesday. I have tomorrow off so ANOTHER FAVOR and all is ready for when she comes. It will be so nice not to have to teach classes all day long. I LOVE student teachers as long as they are good ones.

Your mom is just beautiful. I hope I look that happy and spry at 83! Living with anyone above me or below me is absolutely my living condition of last resort. I hate it! I’m really sensitive to noise (especially when trying to sleep) and I just find it so hard to tune it out when I hear people walking around above me or screaming below me. I’m glad you’re living in peace for the moment!

What do you do with the flare-ups? You might remember my Honey had lymes disease and he too has the flare-ups. How can you walk 9 miles with those symptoms? I so admire you.

Your mom is ADORABLE! YAY for communication with your son. And I LOVE being a grandma. I was so worried when we found out it was a boy. I’d only had a girl, so I didn’t think it was going to be so much fun. As you know, I am LOVING it! We get to babysit every Monday evening because my daughter is the principal oboist for the Tempe Symphony Orchestra and she returns to rehearsals tonight! I can’t wait! Sorry to hear about your Lyme Disease flaring up. What a great walk you must have had – I am jealous of your cold weather. The high today in Phoenix is supposed to be 82 – so much for winter, I think it lasted about 6 days – LOL!! Take care and tell your Mom, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Oh, by the way, MY birthday is June 27th, so maybe your grandson will have my birthdate! That would be so cool…
