SPIDERRRR AHHHHHHH
Dear Diary,
Yesterday, on my way to work, I had quite a scare….SPIDER SCARE. I rode with my window open and the fresh air swirling inside my car. As I was getting ready to turn, in the middle of a highway, swooping down on a web thread was MR. SPIDER….BIG HUGE Mr. Spider! I couldn’t believe how big it was and BROWN…it has black hairy stuff on it’s back. Its legs were thick and somewhat short for its body which was bulbous in nature. It started to swing in front of my face in the middle of the highway. Back and Forth….Back and Forth…..I was screaming bloody murder and threw my coffee which spilled all over me. I swung open the door in the middle of the highway and drove to the shoulder and jumped out. The spider almost landed in my lap but I swagged the web and it must have fallen to the ground. My heart was thumping and my leg was wet from the coffee. When I got to work I cleaned my pants and went to work….on the way home I didn’t open my window LOL I looked it up and it looks like a Garden Orb Weaver….
School has begun. I am happy to report that I have one LESS class this year then last and am I happy about THAT! All the children are wearing a "dress code" which consists of dress slacks, skirts or shorts with blouses and shirts in white, black, blue or khaki. The girls may wear slacks as well and they all have to wear shoes or new sneakers. No jeans or tee shirts. All the teachers are dressing in the same colors but some wear other colors too. I also do but its ok. I was against it at first but the kids look really nice. They seem to walk better and no one knows who has a better life. The children don’t seem to mind wearing them either. Its only been 2 days so who knows what will be in the future.
I have been riding my new bike and last week we did 30 miles. I did 20 today on my mountain bike at a local 5 mile park. It’s been fun riding.
I have been going for acupuncture for the infection that is lingering in my right sinus cavity. It seems to be working because it is much better. I tried an acupuncturist here where I live and he is a very nice man and his wife who runs the office is great as well. I enjoy going and actually fall asleep with all those needles sticking in everywhere….funny as hell…what a sight I must be!
I can’t believe that the school year has started because it seems as though I have never left. So it begins…
Peace,
LYB
I am not a fan of spiders either! UGH!

Next to the devil, I’m most scared of SPIDERS! So is my older sister. We always tell each other “spider stories.” We’ll go, “piiiderrrrr”. They freak me out. I used to think about being hypnotized to see if I could get over my fear. I have to say I cracked up over your description of how the spider rocked back & forth..with you screaming the whole time. I don’t know why it makes me laugh..it’s HORRIBLE! It’s that weird sort of laughter where you laugh when you’re not supposed to!!! You are so lucky you didn’t wreck! I know I would have crashed. So…you never were for sure where the spider ended up it sounds? It sounds like you ‘think’ it got knocked out on the ground??? oh my gosh! I would have had to see it’s body, squished all over. I’m sorry. I would have felt sorry for the spider, but I would have had to see it’s body…completely…mutilated!!! Now, I’m not scared of snakes at all. I don’t even care about any other bugs. Just spiders. I’m better about them, though. I used to be as scared of a spider the size of a dime as I would be for one of those big ones..but I’m lots braver now. Glad you turned out safe!

I’m surprised as much camping as you do that spiders would bother you. We all have things we are afraid of, though – mine is mice – isn’t that crazy?
