Dyed my hair the WRONG color!

Dear Diary,
Today I am feeling a lot better.  My right sinus still hurts but I was given Flonase and a pain medication for my sinus.  It seems to be working and thank god for that!  When I went to pick up my prescriptions I was looking at some Rollators which are those seats with wheels for older people.  It has a basket under the seat and is built very sturdy.  I decided to buy it for a Christmas gift for my mother.  I know she will love it!  She has been talking about getting one for a while now.  Cookiepuss and I put it together using directions that were not very clear but we figured it out.

I’d say we did a pretty good job.
Next it was time to dye my hair.  We mixed the hair dye and Cookiepuss carefully applied it to my head as we chatted about this and that.  We put the plastic cap on and waited for half an hour for the color to set.  We sat and talked.  The timer went off and off came the cap and under the water I went.  Cookie said," your hair looks pretty dark!"  I ran in the bathroom to look in the mirror and OH MY GOD!!!!  I let out a ear piercing screech and said, "ITS FREAKING BROWN, I AM NOT BROWN, I AM BLOND!!"  I looked at Cookie, she looked at me and we both laughed and I said, "I can’t go out like this!"  I was supposed to go out but I called and said I couldn’t go.   I pulled my hat down over my head and Cookie and I ran to the hair supply shop and bought a lighter color.  When we came home, we decided to call the beauty supply place before we applied a lighter color.  They told us that we could not apply color over color and we would have to get a color remover before we did that.  We then called our hairdresser who was not available at this time.  I pulled a cap over my head again and we took off to the store once more.  We bought hair color remover, shampoo and POWERFUL hair conditioner!  The woman at the store wanted to see my hair and I really didn’t want to remove my hat but I did.  She said it didn’t look that bad but I told her I hated it.  Right before we left, our hairdresser called back and told us that it would not be a good idea to redye my hair and suggested that I frost it with a light color without red or orange highlights.  So we did buy the frosting dye that she suggested.  This turned out to be a rather expensive repair job!  We stopped by a Chinese restaurant to get take out for dinner.  I bought Cookie dinner for having to do all this work!  LOL
We came home and ate dinner.   After dinner we put on the cap with holes on my head.  Then the digging the hook into the cap to retrieve hair began.  Cookie tried very hard to be as careful as she could not to hurt my poor over-dyed head. LOL
Cookie then applied the very light dye and we left it on for about 10 minutes.  It seemed to work.  My hair was much lighter and looks pretty good.  The whole process took about 3 hours to do.
WHAT A WEEK!!!!!
LOL
Peace,
LYB

🙂

I wouldn’t like a colour that I didn’t pick. My hair dresser uses tin foil to put in high lights. She combs pieces of hair, puts a piece of foil on top of those plastic mylar pieces to get it to the root and puts the high light colour on it…then folds up the foil with the little piece of hair in it. I hope you understand that. Anyway, you can avoid those caps that HURT!

Hey, I LIKE brown hair! Whassamatta you? *grins*

Aloha… Ryn: It’s not a pot-luck… and when I asked what I might bring… the hostess suggested a bottle of wine… Smiles…
