Mirror Lake by Moonlight

We two hand in hand, strolled along the lake like long lost lovers,
unhurried pace, caught deep in appreciation of the reflections.

Mirror Lake, so very like you, calm and unhurried,
You seem so different from months ago.

A world away, our own world within the night,
within the moment, even time slowed.

Stolen kisses by moonlight, back pressed
against the white sculpted column, breathless.

Spot of seclusion, hidden by the trees,
Witnessed by only the moon.
