Yay for fall!

You know, besides the 80 degree weather this weekend. I really wish summer would just let go already. My child has very very few warm weather clothes in the right size, I got her whole fall wardrobe in 18 months, but nothing short sleeved. She got massive overnight, I swear.

I’ve become crazy pumpkin hoarder lady lately. I don’t know what it’s like in your area of the world, but apparently there’s yet again a canned pumpkin shortage and I’m too lazy to make my own. Every time we go to Super Walmart I buy one of the 30 oz cans because it’s the only place I can find it! So far I’ve made muffins and pancakes (they were SO good) and I have a donut recipe pinned I can’t wait to try. Oooooh, bread too, I forgot about pumpkin bread! I love fall flavors. I made wicked easy and deeeelicious apple dumplings after apple picking a couple weeks ago. I ate them for lunch a few days when nothing else sounded good

Riley and I are visiting my folks in Maine right now, it’s such a great break. We normally have playgroups during the week – 3 days if I so choose – but even then she still wants me to follow her around and I have to make sure she isn’t stealing from/beating up other kids lol. Phil travels a lot for benefits fairs in October and this year is no exception. For the most part they’re one day trips, but he sometimes doesn’t get home until midnight so it makes for long days. Next week he goes to Texas for 2 days, so I think my mom is going to come down one day. I’m such a wuss. I have my second midwife appoint while he’s gone and I’ve wondered how Riley was going to do, so having my mom there to watch her would definitely help. Plus I think she wants to hear the h/b She came to one of my appoints with R because she happened to be in town.

Ugh, once again I waited way too long to order new contacts and this pair is KILLING me!! The new ones should be at the house when we get back, but not looking forward to the drive tomorrow. I do have glasses as a backup, but I feel like I can’t see as well with glasses vs. contacts.

I feel like this month is so busy I’m going to forget something. I made Riley a dentist appointment Everyone kept telling me "oh, 2-3 years is when they first see them". So I asked when I went in for my cleaning and I get "We do infant tooth health starting at 12 months!" You don’t have to be so excited, lady, overmotivated pediatric dentist. Even the hygienist saw my paperwork and said how "exciting" it is I’m bringing her in. Yeah, I’m thinking more mortifying when the kid screams and flails and refuses to open her mouth, but we shall see. She loooooves having her teeth brushed, I finally remember to do it every night, so maybe we can build on that.

I’ll be 14 weeks Thursday and still feel gross, I felt so much better at this point with Riley. I had to do my own grocery shop when we got here because nothing they had was appealing. In the last few weeks even water has been making me nauseous. I’m taking in way too many calories through juice, but otherwise I get dehydrated, which makes me more nauseous. Joy. I told Phil we have another very rude baby on the way lol.

Man, I’m watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition – can anyone watch this show and NOT cry? Ridiculous.

Well the monster is up from her nap and my mom is trying to make dinner, so I should probably go help in some way. Sooooo tired.
