Where did October go?
Oh I’m tired.
So worth it though. Saturday our friend Cody was having a housewarming party and since I was already out (technically at work) I got to be the one to go. Okay, also because Phil had already been to the house a couple times and because he sees those friends a lot more than I do. Like I think this was the 2nd time I hung out with everyone like that since Riley was born. Since I didn’t get there until 11:30 the time really got away from me and all of a sudden I was all ZOMG please tell me that clock (that said 2:15) is wrong. It was not wrong.
It was almost 4 when I went to bed yet I wasn’t all that tired the next day, strangely. I got up with the kids at 7:30, then laid back down when Sam went for his morning nap and slept until about 11 (thank you husband), then it was back to work at 2. Maybe that’s why I wasn’t tired, because I was sitting at work and not home with the kids lol.
Then ugly AF paid a visit Sunday night and I’m feeling very blarg.
Moms night out was last Friday, amazing I went out 2 nights in a row. It was a JuJuBe trunk show and they had Tastefully Simple samples and some wine, but not a lot of people went and I was only there 2 hours, if that. Kind of disappointed by that one.
Sam is wearing 9 month pants at the moment and looks ridiculous lol. The legs are ballooning as he rolls around on the floor, it’s like he’s wearing powder blue Hammer pants. For some reason he has exactly one pair of 6-9 month pants, the rest are either 6-12 or 9 month and way too big.
Riley’s molars are ruining my life. They are cutting excruciatingly slow and her attitude is beyond bad. I’m sure some of it is being 2, but the poor kid is walking around with her fingers shoved in her mouth and when I asked if she wanted some chamomilla today she said yes, but when I reached for it she said "no, this one" and pointed at the Advil. So I gave her some. I remember when my wisdom teeth came in in high school and everything hurt; my throat, my ears, my jaw, I could barely open my mouth. But really, the constant whining, UGH.
Did I mention we’re doing a Tangled theme in her room? I think I did. I’m super awesome and decided to have THIS be my first sewing project since home ec in 7th grade: http://www.amazon.com/McCalls-Patterns-M5827-Play-Canopy/dp/B0044IBLB6 It took 3 days to cut all the pieces and I still have more to do because I also decided to do a sparkly overlay on the main tent pieces. Hahahahaha. My mom told me I’m crazy. I actually found a tutorial for no-sew cloth shades and some cheapish blackout drapery lining on Amazon so I think I’m going to attempt that as well. The so-called black out curtains we got at Target were crap AND (I thought) more expensive then they were worth.
Sam has become a garbage disposal, they were laughing at him at playgroup today because I was giving him one spear of pear at a time and when it was gone, like still in his mouth, but none in the hand, he’d start crying until I gave him another piece. I was getting such a kick out of watching him at dinner last night. He’d take one bite of broccoli, one of cornbread, one of ham, then repeat. Once he dropped the piece of broccoli he was working on he finished his bite of ham and went to grab it and it was gone. I got yelled at until more broccoli appeared lol.
We’ve used up most of our grocery budget for the month (we were over last month due to hosting a BBQ) so I have a couple veggie meals planned for this week, beans are so much cheaper than meat! I already have lentils and black beans in the house so I’m making my first lentil loaf, black bean burgers, and we’re going to have spaghetti with cannellini bean "meat"balls. I’m kind of excited! Riley went on a meat strike around 9 months so I did a lot more experimental cooking and then around a year she went back to eating almost anything so I stopped.
And both kids are up and Phil should be home soon, so there’s my abbreviated update. Laters.
LOL, so really where did October go!!! NaNoWriMo is next month!!!

Ha, I’m the same way about giving myself over-the-top projects when I should probably start with something small. But I dream big!
