Salute to Supernatural, Boston

Because I clearly have a problem

The last time I updated I was still stalking a 2nd gold ticket, but it didn’t end up working out. The other bidder’s max bid was higher than I was willing to go. I ended up not buying any tickets online on the off chance a good deal came up on Ebay, but no such luck.

Friday night I left the house at 8:30 at night to drive my crazy pregnant ass down the Boston. It was smooth sailing most of the way and I thought I was golden….uuuuuntil I got the the stretch where 3 exits were closed for construction and it went from, like, 5 lanes down to 2. Not so fun. Luckily the exit I needed was the very next one and I got to the hotel no problem. There was even plenty of parking behind the hotel, no $20 to park in their garage! (stupid Boston). I was supposed to be meeting a girl there I’d been talking to online, but her and her sister were still in their room when the karaoke started and I wanted a good spot, so I ended up not getting to meet her But I was only two people back from the stage!

For those who don’t know, there weren’t even any panels I was going down for, just for the karaoke party lol. It’s FREE though! and was the most fun ever in Nashville. I probably would have skipped it if I hadn’t gone in Nash and loved every second. In Nash it was hosted by 2 of the actors, there were 4 in Boston. It was Matt Cohen, Richard Speight Jr, Chad Lindberg and Alona Tal. Alona wasn’t at Nash at all, so it was cool seeing her! As with most events with the guys it was one big drink fest lol. They got crazier and crazier as the night went on. I’m kind of in love with Matt Cohen, so I was pretty psyched when I got to touch him ha. He was yelling at the girl next to me for not knowing the words to Bohemian Rhapsody and put his arm around me and another girl while we sang "mama ooooooooooh" haha. At one point (two points?) Chad Lindberg dove off the stage and crowd surfed, the 2nd time I "caught" his foot lol. Oh also at one point Matt and Chad were standing on chairs playing air guitar in the audience and Richard told them it was weak so Matt picked up a chair and threw it. I talked to a girl who was near him when it happened and she said after he jumped down and was like "OMG, I threw a chair, I’m in so much trouble".

It was a lot of fun and very worth the sleep deprivation. I talked to a lot more people this time (I think because I went into it alone), Supernatural fans are the best! It wasn’t the best when a bunch of highway on-ramps were closed and my GPS kept taking me back to the same ones repeatedly, but I saw some screaming drunk girl get handcuffed and attempt to resist arrest while her friends pretended to not notice, so there’s that 😛 I got home at 2:30 AM, I think?

I skipped Saturday since the panels were so far spaced and there were no "multiple" panels! Some of my favs in Nash were the guys on stage together, but they were all singles Saturday. I was doubly glad I went to karaoke because it was my only chance to see Matt.

Sunday I got up at 6 AM. Should I repeat that? Sunday I got up at SIX AM. I mumbled and grumbled the whole time I was getting ready about "Jared better appreciate this" hahaha. Oh should I also mention my morning sickness started Saturday in full force and I felt like crap? Yeah, I have devotion.. Or the crazy, whatevs.

I got to the hotel on time, much less traffic at that hour go figure, and there was a monster line at registration *sigh* BUT I met the awesomest person ever in line! She was all nervous and started talking to me first. At first it was the awkward just met chit chat, but then I mentioned something about working at a hospital and it came out we’re both med techs! There aren’t many of us out there, folks, it was pretty cool. She actually works at one of the reference labs we send our more obscure tests to. So we’re in line nerding it up and she elbowed me (my first reaction is WTF? lol) and I looked and there’s Jared walking by in all his beautifulness. I might have drooled a little. He was all clean shaven and wearing plaid and had wet from the shower hair ::puddle::

Anyway, blah blah, registration opened, I bought my tickets, we moved on. The photo ops were the first event of the day again so we went and waited in another line for that lol. Talked to a handful more girls while waiting….how is it the Boston con was friendlier than the south?? Jared was WAY more animated than he was in Nash (rumor – from Jensen – has it he was hungover in Nash). He was joking with people and talking a whole lot more. Oh and I was so proud because I wasn’t nervous at all! I smiled big and said "Welcome to Boston" and he asked how I was and I said great and asked how he was. Okay, not exactly stimulating conversation, but you get about 10 seconds and in Nash all I said was "hi" haha (though he did call me babe there :P) When I thanked him after he was all "No no, thank YOU".

There was a huuuuuge time gap after that so awesome med tech lady and I went and sat in the hotel lobby and nerded about Supernatural for awhile. Oh we went and checked out the vendors too. I was tempted to get another shirt – there’s one more I want! – but I’m going to wait and get a maternity one. When we got back to our spot three other girls were there and one of them had also been at Nash so we nerded some more. Since Jensen wasn’t there it was a con full of Sam girls. Dean seems to be the more popular brother overall so it was nice talking to others like me. Maybe that’s why it was easier to meet people lol. The five of us grabbed a quick lunch and then it was time for Jared’s panel.

The other girls all had assigned seats and I had just got general admission so I broke off to wander around and find a good seat. I lucked out totally. The room wasn’t that deep, so I was in the last row but dead center – I’m pretty sure it was a better view than our preferred seats in Nash (that room was much bigger and we were practically last row). There happened to be one seat between two guys and I squeezed myself on in. The panel was hilarious. Halfway through he was joined by Misha Collins and I had been dying to see them on stage together. They did not disappoint. It got completely wacky and out of control, I laughed so freaking hard! I texted my friend that I went to Nash with us and told her I’m only going to Jared/Misha cons from now on lol. After watching the videos she said her life goal is to make it to one.

Found med tech girl again after and were hanging out in a corner when Misha and Jared walked by. We just kind of stared in creepy awe until Jared said "hey guys" lol.

Richard had a short panel after that and he’s always good for a laugh. Med tech girl ditched her assigned seat and sat in GA with me. I told her Richard would walk around, he always likes to come back to people in the "cheap seats" and he didn’t disappoint. He gave her five and held her hand and she turned bright red lol. After he walked away she was like "That was SO worth it!" haha. The best part of the Richard panel was someone aske

d a question about Lucifer and he called Mark Pellegrino to ask him the question since it was his character. He left a hilarious voicemail and Mark texted back he was in the middle of something, but would call. I guess he didn’t call until Richard had already left for the airport so Richard tweeted Mark’s response later lol.

Brock Kelly was on stage after that and he doesn’t do much for me. He’s kind of awkward on stage. Med tech girl had to leave (she had a date) and I decided I was done. Misha had a solo panel still, but it wasn’t until 5:30 and I couldn’t stay that late. I already felt bad leaving Phil and Riley on a weekend I wasn’t working. Lucky for me the photos were printed earlier than predicted and I got to take mine home with me! I thought I was going to have to email them to get it mailed and you couldn’t even contact them about it until after August 23rd.

So that’s that! A bunch of us are writing letters to Creation because they’re saying there won’t be another Boston con, but the only way I’ll be able to go to one next year is if there’s a Boston! Even just one more, I can do New Jersey in 2013. I think they shouldn’t have had Boston and Jersey so close together….this part of the country isn’t really that big, people will drive. I think where Jersey is established and Boston was new more people still went to Jersey. Oh well.

I’m still waiting for med tech girl to email me, I hope she does. She took my email address, but I didn’t have any paper on me so all I have is a first name and place of employment to go on.
