Remember when I was pregnant with Riley and that one coworker had an oops and I was all mad about it the whole time? I don’t know if I mentioned this, but she’s like one of my closest mom friends – we started going to moms groups together after the kiddos were born and she was the first person I told I was pregnant again. Anyway, guess what!! She told me today she’s pregnant too lol. They were going to wait until January, but that was mostly because of her husband. Apparently she convinced him to not prevent for one month, then they would wait until Jan if it didn’t work out (she didn’t want a summer baby) and BAM lol. I felt bad because she was really nervous to tell me since I was kind of snotty last time, but I’m really excited. These 2 will be about the same age difference as our first 2 (6 weeks). I’m sure work is not going to be thrilled, but I’m trying not to think about work right now because I don’t get FMLA now that I’m per diem and am nervous about getting a leave.

I think I might be a little jealous if she has another girl and I don’t. But that will mean more babies for me! lol. I told Phil I want Riley to have at least one sister.

I was having a lot of crazy cramping at work tonight, which made me nervous. I got home and drank a couple bottles of water and put my feet up, it seems to have helped. We had a girl in the ER who miscarried at 14 weeks, seeing stuff like that always makes me extra paranoid. We just told our families this weekend, I’m a little over 11 weeks. My folks were coming down to babysit Saturday, so I got Riley a Big Sister 2012 shirt. It took my mom a few minutes to notice and then she had to explain it to my dad, lol, but they were just as excited as they were the first time around. I wondered if it would be more "been there done that". My sis and BFF were excited, too 🙂 My BFF was long distance when R was born, so she’s excited to see this one more from a young age. I didn’t want to tell work for a lot longer, but my parents posted on Facebook and I forgot we have a few mutual friends, so I’ve gotten a few congratulations posts. I don’t want to come out on FB until I tell my boss because I have coworkers on there, so I’ve changed my privacy settings for now, but I hate that I had to do that.

My daughter is crazy awesome lately. Obviously not last week when I had the meltdown, but she has been much better this week despite having a cold. We woke up sick the same day and I think she’s taking it better than I am lol. We went apple picking yesterday and she carried the same apple around 2 hours working on it. We finally had to take it away because she wasn’t rotating and started eating the core, haha. We got her to pick a couple off the trees, but she mostly picked them up off the ground, said "uh oh" and put them in the bag *shudder* We then tossed them out when she wasn’t looking.

On Friday we were both sick and couldn’t go to playgroup so we did one of my pinned crafts on Pinterest. I love that site, it makes me seem like a way cooler mom than I actually am haha. I have not one creative bone in this body! Anyway, I got some buttons and pom poms and beads for her to drop into water bottles. I wasn’t sure if she’d be into it of if she’d get angry she couldn’t get the things back out, but she sat there and dropped stuff in one by one. It was so funny watching her, she was very deliberate about what she picked up and what went in next. When she had a good amount of stuff in one she wanted to keep going so I have her another bottle – she made 3 in all! When DH came in from mowing she picked one up and was at the back door before he even had his shoes off, she was so excited to show him. She was so good that day in general. While we were out getting the craft stuff I picked up some cheap strings of beads and she spend the afternoon putting them on and taking them off and hiding them lol. She loves beads. It bought me time to make dinner AND pumpkin muffins!

Oh, nap today = amazingness. I think she has discovered how awesome sleep is. She was getting cranky and everything just made her cry or whine so I put her in the crib with her seahorse and bunny and she giggled and snuggled in. So I said goodnight and left the room. She cried for maybe 30 seconds, but it was halfhearted, and she was out. Yesterday she cried about the same amount which then turned into babbling and giggling (alone in her crib lol) and she eventually fell asleep. Gone are the hours of nursing and rocking and trying to sneak out while she’s already sound asleep. I said how proud I am of her last week at group and the leader was all "It wasn’t her, it was you training her" – she’s obsessed with sleep training. I was like nope, never sleep trained, she just grew into it on her own. Though at night I do have to sit in the room until she lays down (but is still awake). If she’s standing in the crib and I leave it’s full on meltdown and I have to go back in.

That’s the one thing I hate about group – the leader is not only all about sleep training, but is all about cry it out and basically any mom who mentions night wakings she tells them she just has to let them cry. Even if they say they don’t want to. There are about a billion ways to sleep train and the leader is just a mom, she’s no expert in anything or medical personnel. But a lot of them do what she says anyway. I feel bad they probably leave thinking that’s their only option.

Aaaaaand mini-rant over.

Our first appointment was last Tuesday. It was with the MW who delivered R. She came in and hugged me and asked all about R, she was ecstatic when I told her she was there in the waiting room. She was like the heck with this chit chat, let’s get this over with so I can see the little one! lol. I figured Phil and Riley didn’t need to be there for my pap. When Phil brought her into the exam room of course she lunged for me because we were apart for oh so long *sarcasm* so she sat on my lap while the MW used the doppler. At first R looked really concerned – she did not like when I had my blood pressure and blood work done a few weeks before – but the MW talked to her the whole time and told her it was just a tickle for Mom. When she asked her if she heard the baby in mommy’s tummy she did a double take lol. We hadn’t said anything yet "just in case", I always like to wait to hear the h/b.

The MW turned around to put the doppler away and Riley made a sound of protest, she wasn’t done playing. She kept fussing and when the MW came back to the table R all but jumped into her arms. I got cleaned up and put together while Phil tried to take her and she wouldn’t go to him. So I tried to take her and she still said no! The MW walked us out to reception and I tried to take R back again and she still said no, like turned around and clung to the MW – it was the strangest thing! I asked if she remembered from her birthday lol.

It’s cute, though, if we ask her where the baby is she lifts my shirt up and pats my belly. A lot of times she’ll give it a kiss and/or lay down with her head on it. Melts my heart!

This has been insanely boring for anyone who doesn’t have kids, I’m sure, I apologize. Next time I’ll bring pictures. I got some cute ones of her doing her arts and crafts and in the Bis Sis shirt. Oh, and here, the romper I was talking about last time 🙂

She just started saying cheese when I take her picture, like, 2 days ago. She also just started saying bye randomly. It amazes me how perfectly her words come out right from the start. She’ll go awhile without new ones, but when they come they’re totally understandable, so fun.

I don’t have kids, but I don’t find your entries boring. 🙂 You usually have something funny to say! Also, now I want to make pumpkin muffins! I need to start baking again. Hey, are you able to send an invite to Pinterest? I’m on their waiting list or whatever.
