Funniest thing from today:
Milo chased a robin across the field by our house, and the bird finally flew up into a tree by the driveway. Milo ran over to the tree and called up to the bird. "Birdy! Get down he-oh! (he doesn’t say "r"s) COME DOWN! Right NOW! 1…. 2….. 8, 9, 10!!"
I laughed a lot. lol
Milo says hilarious things, and I wish I could remember all of them. He drives me bonkers… lol. He helped me make dinner, which is something he does almost every night. He pours in sauces, water, milk, ingredients, etc, he sprinkles seasonings onto stuff, and he stirs things for me. He’s pretty sweet. He makes a bigger mess than is necessary while "helping," but I love it anyways. Tonight he dragged his stool over to the stove where I was putting chicken on a pan, and he knows not to touch the raw chicken, but he climbed up and watched me, then I handed him each spice and he sprinkled them onto the meat. Then he moved his stool and opened the oven door for me and I put the pan in and closed it. Then I washed and sliced potatoes and handed Milo the chunks, and he put them into the pot full of water that was waiting on the stove top (the burner was not on yet) for him.
Ross has been working late all week, which is almost nice.. it gives me time to unwind after I put the kids to bed, but it’s also kinda lame to have to deal with EVERYTHING by myself ALL day, till bed time. Siiigh. I do feel less obligated to do what HE wants after the kids are in bed, though. Usually I let him choose what we watch, he doesnt like any of my shows. I never soak in the tub because he’s here and he says Im ignoring him if I don’t stay in the bedroom and hang out. Not that we do anything. Sometimes we don’t even talk.
On the other hand, him working long hours means he misses most of the day with the kids and is therefore far more relaxed when he gets home… Idk. Mostly I think he’s more enjoyable since he’s been doing this job, but he hates it. It’s a lot of HARD work, and the guy he works with is sort of an idiot, and he annoys the hell out of Ross. So. Yeah.
Anyways, he just walked in and I should go…
Thanks for all the positive comments on my last entry, I really appreciate it, you guys. 🙂
i miss when xak worked all day and was more relaxed with the kids. since he works a totally different shift, he is around them more.. which i don’t think is such a great idea. xak gets torqued if i’m not in the same room w/him, too… even if he’s on this stupid thing, playing games with his idiot friends and doesn’t talk to me from the time he walks in until he goes to bed. i think this job is good for xak, it’s physical, which is what he needs. sitting on his ass behind a computer at stream just wasn’t cutting it. *sighs*

Jo likes to help with dinner, too. He drags a chair to the counter and says “I’ve got a job to do.” It cracks me up.
