Baby Be Gone

 

SO. Milo.

He hasn’t nursed in 2 days. He basically just hasn’t asked, so I haven’t offered, and so now there’s no more nursing. I’m sure I have some milk in there still, but not for long, I reckon. I’m not getting engorged or anything, which is a relief, but he was only really nursing once a day for the last week or so anyways, so I think  that really helped to bring my production down enough that it wasn’t a huge shock to my poor breasts when he gave it up all together one day. TADA! Weaned. he’ll be one on the 23rd.. 3 weeks and 2 days. Insane. I’m heart broken that he’s turning 1, but I’m glad that he waited till now to wean and I’m happy to be done breastfeeding. I know some people think I’m a monster for saying that, but I was just SO done. I feel like I’m slowly regaining my body. AND NOW, the DAY after he stopped breastfeeding, I FINALLY got a period. lol. It’s beeeen.. 20 months. It’s been a really light period so far, I’m wondering how long it will last. 

He also has started saying "papa" and "up" to go with "dada" "mama" "no" "bubba" (brother) and the occasional "all done" and "more" (he very rarely uses these, mostly when he’s desperate.) and he’s working on "bye bye" but it comes out more like "buh buh" right now, which is pretty close to "bubba" which I think makes it too close to be certain if he’s trying to say "bye bye" and not just saying "bubba" cuz it’s close enough. He also waves hello and waves bye-bye, too 🙂

His new favorite snack is roast beef – the sandwich meat kind that is "carving board" style, so it’s big hunks of meat. He LOVES it. Also, soft fresh french bread with Sicilian bread dipping spices. He also got to try a cheesy ham and hash brown casserole with broccoli for the first time, which I made on Friday. He’s always loved ham, cheese, potatoes, and broccoli, so it was pretty much a match made in heaven. lol.. he lovvvves it.

He’s getting SO BIG.

For his first birthday we’re going to have everyone at the party colour in a Happy Birthday colouring page to make into a book for him. I bought the album today and I’m going to sort of scrap the colouring sheets with some photos from the party and make a page for his cards and stuff like that. it’s a small album so I’m hoping everything I’m thinking of will fit in there? It has 10 sheets in it that are double sided right now, and I’m not sure if it’s the kind I can add to, but I just assume. Kasin has a 1st birthday album that I took apart to make it wider and add more pages and can’t figure out how to expand it and make it bigger to put it back together again. FAIL. lol. The pages are all finished, though!

*shrug* anyways. I feel like I had more news about Milo.. he slept all night last night, which was amazing. OH YEAH here’s the bigger one, He decided, over the weekend, that he was going to only take one nap per day. He would sleep for 2 or 3 hours each afternoon and go to bed by 8, up around 7:30-8am the next day. AWESOME! I approve. That also gets him closer to moving up to Toddlers at daycare, which I don’t actually want him to do. I want him to stay in the nursery because he does not yet understand about taking toys from others and how that’s bad, or about personal space, or any of that stuff.. most of the kids in toddlers are 2… they are wanting to send Milo to Toddlers pretty much right after he turns 1, which would make him almost a year younger than any of the other kids.. and when he’s in there to visit, for instance, he will walk up to another kid and take a toy from them and then the kid freaks out and hits him and takes it back or whatever, which he doesn’t understand. I know it would help him to figure out these social norms, but I feel like he’s still too young for Toddlers.

Anyways. Valentine’s day is coming up, and we’ve gotten a valentine for everyone at daycare/work, Kasin’s class at school, and Milo’s daycare room. I made little goodie bags for all of the school age kids at Educare. SO! I feel ready for Valentine’s Day.. I got Kasin a big Spongebob cuddle pillow and some candies, and Milo is getting a couple of books and a set of animal "cars" and a owl-shaped/decorated "candy box" that has animal crackers in it. I got Ross a Kindle Fire second hand, with a cover and anti-glare protective screen covers. His laptop is just about completely dead, and I know he can surf Facebook and YouTube and such with the Kindle Fire. 

In other news- I just got my hair done today and it’s just reshaped and trimmed up, Sean said he’d call me when the new Aveda "Fashion Colours" come in because he wants to try out some fun colours as peekaboo panels on me. I have to choose what colour I want and give him a few ideas for what I want it to look like. He told me to Pinterest it. I should do that. I also bought some scalp therapy shampoo and conditioner from the Aveda line, because my scalp has gotten all oily in response to the cold dry weather and my hormone changes since starting to wean Milo.. he said this will help fix my scalp, as I’ve been OCD scratching it so much lately, as well.

I also got new shoes- Black/white/pink plaid CDs. SUPER cute.

Mine are way darker plaid but that’s the style.. my plaid isn’t grey, it’s black. So hm. Also my DC on the tongue is hot pink. Otherwise they’re the same.

Spent some money to get important things out of the way. Kids bdays, check. Valentines Day, check. New shoes, check. I wish I could afford an eye exam and new glasses… *sigh* some day.
