Card Carrying Republican?

Wow.

 

I got one of those credit card like things in the mail, and I just had to wonder……

 

what does an illegal type alien, morphed into a visa carrying Trade Nafta economic refugee, have to do with Republicans?

Or Bushes?

Or the CIA?

Or Cheneys?

All I want is a happy family, decent lifestyle, and something to show for my days on this planet. My idea of a ‘decent lifestyle’ is below what many would consider standard.

I have a penchant for the low cost/ high experience life style….

 

So my house is a fixer upper…..paid off 8 years ago.

My car is good, but second hand….I’ve had excellent luck with old, but well built, cars, that cost less than     $ 3,000. My latest is a 95 Audi. I drive them for several years.

One reader at this diary questioned how I was able to send my daughter on trips to foriegn countries, given my status as a single mother, because she held the same title and earning/expending experience.

 

I have no answers for that sort of question, because I look around, and see others with the same average income, who enjoy a better lifestyle than I do.

 

I have no credit debt. I pay for it upfront, or in the case of my low cost cars, I negotiate a short term pay deal. My house was purchased from the owner, on a short term pay scheme. I have no clue about how high flyers in the debt economy operate. I refurbish cast offs, and treat my self to the occasional comfort item, such as a DVD player for $40.00 on sale, or a comfortable livingroom suite for a little over $1,000.

 

My needs are pretty simple. Many can attest to that…just walk through my front door….

 

And the trips to other countries for my kid? Well just check out the low cost flights on whatever low cost travel flight business you want….excellent bargains to where ever.

 

All I give are roots and wings, in my wild parenting style.

 

But I’m not a ‘Card Carrying Republican’. Why are they expending time on me? I have no affinity with their attitudes. Or their agenda.

 In fact, I think they are the ignorant overlords of the evil future, but what do I know? I’m just a simple life seeker, protecting my small strong hold. They are the deviant ‘Manifest Destinators’, with their cruel and oblivious plans to enslave the planet.

I’m operating on a wing, and a prayer, at all times.

 

But it’s funny that they sent me their card…..I will keep it always, just for the memories, lol

 

PS…maybe, one day, I’ll stop seeing the whole world as one giant labour pool for various corporations, to be used at will like cut rate hookers. But not anytime soon. In fact, this sense gets stronger with time.

Just check the clothing label on your shirt…..and then visit the degraded Asian country where they made it. 

If you start thinking about value and cost, and the whole human equation, you’ll be at a loss.

 

And that’s something to think about
