Breaking His Heart, She Still Fucks Like A Tease.

Tomorrow I work a full day (0800 – 1600; yes, we work on a 24 hour clock – we at DKML are just that cool).  My supervisor informed me that I have to work next weekend, the 4th and 5th.  In Canada, the 6th (Monday) is a stat holiday, and they want me to work that too.  But I emailed her today and told her that I’m not available.  If I don’t hear back from her by lunch, I’ll call her and figure it out.  I also have to remember to talk to her about what "kind" of days off I’ll be using for the time I’ll be off for the trip.  Being temporary, part-time, I don’t get benefits which – I think – means I don’t get sick days or paid vacation.  Or dental/medical coverage.  Fuck.

Working the weekend now means that I get days off during the week as compensation.  I’ll probably get the Thursday and Friday before the weekend as my days off, which will be nice.  I’ll have some time to work on the things on the list.  Which will be good, because the week of the 6th, I’m getting my wisdom teeth out on Thursday (the 10th).  That’ll put a $2000 dent in my bank account.  And then the trip, which hopefully won’t be more than $750 – 1000 each.  Doesn’t seem like it will be, at least at this point.  But random things come up.  Anyways, here is the updated list.  I’ve managed to make a few decisions/appointments/changes already.

To Do Before The Trip:

• dinner with Mike (July 26th – 4 pm-ish)
• transfer all calendar information into new planner
• book appointment for leg/bikini waxing (Peaches and Cream 482 2664 – week of August
• appointment for pedicure (Spa Essentials – 2pm)
• hair appointment for trim and straightening (August 2nd – 2 pm)
• getting wisdom teeth out (August 9th – 9.15 am) [days booked off: August 9th – 12th]
• get campsite (for Hope – August 22nd), hostels (Nelson – August 21st; Kelowna – August 25th) booked for trip
• organize clothes in dresser and closet
• organize books/movies/cds on shelves
• move dresser and bookshelves (maybe?); alternatively – find a new dresser with bigger/deeper drawers
• finish organizing desk
• bring old books to library to donate
• write and mail cards/letters to: Emily, Kelly, Ashley
• thank Erik profusely for: picking up the new hard drive that works marvelously; picking up new ink for my printer; loaning me his removable hard drive and sharing all 20000-some songs of his with me
• pay Erik back for the ink!!!! ($80)
• pay rent/internet for August (July 31st/August 1st)
• decide what to bring for trip (clothes, books, etc.)

So, that’s the list, and things are starting to happen.
