no pics again. tomorrow, I promise!
I promise that tomorrow I will have a Photobucket Album linked here for house pictures!
Today I stripped the house of the remaining wallpaper(about half of the kitchen and the den/family room). I’m a little sore from climbing up and down on a step stool and yanking/peeling! Matt took down the wall dividing the living room and dining room so now it is just open space. I’m not sure how we’re going to transition from the living room to dining room now without the wall but it’s SO much nicer having the open space. Anyway, I need to steal the pictures from Matt’s compy and also take some of the den and the rooms sans wall. Gah, you guys, the paint under the den was Crest toothpaste blue-green. Who thinks these colors up? 🙂
Something else for tomorrow…I need to go get my right front tire replaced. So here in VA we are required to get safety inspections done every year(and emissions every 2 years) in order to keep current on our vehicle registration. Anyway, my safety inspection was over-due after September 1st and I kept forgetting about getting it done or was too busy to do it. Matt actually came and picked up my car last week when I was working OT and took it to a gas station to get the inspection done and it failed due to the right front tire having a wee bulge at the seams. That pissed me off to NO end because the tires were brand effing NEW since the car was brand effing NEW last year! And I KNOW that i’ve not hit anything to make the tire do that. Needless to say the warranty on the tires does not cover this kind of thing because there is no way to prove that I didn’t the tire that hard on anything. This is sucky because the tires on the car are top of the line and it’s going to be like $260 for the (one) tire and the mounting. SHEESH. They also asked if we wanted to replace all of the tires since Subaru’s are all-wheel drive but no, since they are still good. Shadowfax does not even have 11K miles on her yet so I’m sure the rest of the tires are fine. *sighs* $260! And at the end of the month I need to pay my property tax due on my car which is another couple of hundred. LAME CITY.
Speaking of Matt he is the best! Last night I was really craving some Taco Bell and asked him if I could talk him into going and getting me some – which he did without me even really having to bribe him. 🙂 I also told him if he wanted he could go by Blockbuster and get a movie since we had an online rental to trade in for. So he goes out and does that for me and brought me dinner which was SO good and hit the spot. This morning we both got up to head out to the house, him on his motorcycle and me in my car. I had told him I was going to stop for some coffees and then would meet him out there after I picked them up. I’d also needed gas so I figured I’d just stop at the Sunoco right near the Starbucks. After I got in the car and turned it on I realized that my gas tank was FULL and that someone had filled it up last night while he was out getting me dinner! And then tonight after we’d gotten out of the shower he was getting ready to shave but couldn’t find his shaving cream under the sink because I’d stolen it to use in the shower. I was still toweling off and realized what he was looking for so I apologized for stealing it and popped back into the stall to get it for him. Right before i sat down to write this entry I used the bathroom and when I looked over at the side of the bath I saw that he’d put the shaving cream back there for me to use instead of under the sink where he normally puts it. 🙂 It is the little things in life, I tell you!
What else what else… Oh yeah! The BBQ and touch-football game yesterday was quite fun! We met up with the rest of my co-workers at Micron yesterday and then carpooled in. Matt and I hopped in with Gabe and Jon in Gabe’s GIANT truck. Matt promptly fell asleep and I listen to Gabe and Jon chit-chat and occasionally joined in on the conversation(mostly to tease one of the two), I also spent a lot of time just staring out the window. About an hour later we got to Lake of the Woods and started setting up shop(ie drinking beer and getting the grill ready). We ate and then looked around for a spot to play some football. The game didn’t last long because Chris wound up twisting his ankle some and then falling down and somehow did something to one of his knees. After we knew Chris was okay we meandered back to the picnic tables and then drank more beer, talked and laughed. I am so lucky to work with so many fun and funny people!
Right now I have Ghost in and am half watching it. I felt it appropriate to watch it since Patrick Swayze passed away. 🙁 So sad! This movie also reminds me of my Gramma because she and I used to watch this movie and Dirty Dancing – she was a huge Swayze fan. *sighs* Death is a crazy thing and when it happens it makes you think of so many different memories… And I love this song by the Righteous Brothers. 🙂
*yawns* I am sleepy! We had chicken with a jamaican jerk rub and asparagus for dinner and a tasty IPA(beer) to drink along side. YUM. I think when I go to bed I’ll read some of New Moon(Started them over again, SOMEONE here on OD made me want to start reading them again. KELLY.).
Hmm okay movie is about over. Be back tomorrow with pictures, I promise! 🙂 Later taters!
looking forward to pics
