just a little update plus a few pics :) *1 more!

My vacation home has gone by quickly!  I am heading back to Virginia tomorrow…  Kind of bittersweet in a way, I always miss Arizona and my family when I leave but I sure do miss Matt, Widget and my home out there.  I am also excited to get home because many things have happened while away!  The exterior has been painted and as I type Mr. Willett(aka Matt) is installing our new over-the-range microwave. 🙂  He’s already installed the dishwasher today; I am so very lucky to be with such a handy-man. 🙂

Anyway I want to share a quick picture I’ve stolen off of Matt’s facebook:

Siding is called Sugarloaf, door and shutters are Bay Blue and white trim around the windows.  The holly tree that was blocking our front door has been knocked down and that is the debris in the foreground.

Just from the picture it looks 110% better, it still amazes me what a little bit of paint can do!  I am so glad we are finally coming to an end of all of this.  We can start focusing more on decorating and making it a little more homey.  We still need a dining room set which I am hoping to get before January.  I say this because Matt’s dad and stepmother are coming to visit us at the end of that month!  I am so excited for that, I’ve not seen his parents in a very long time.  I don’t think I’ve seen them since Matt’s college graduation!  I need to get my butt in gear getting the Spare Oom(Narnia reference there…) ready for visitors.

Part of Matt’s Christmas gift should be arriving tomorrow sometime, I got him a new flight bag and also got him the entire Planet Earth series on Blu-Ray. 🙂  We actually saw the series at Target and he was so excited about it being $30 bucks and wanted to get it right then and there.  But I noticed that it was in the wrong spot so it was definitely not $30, more like $80. 🙂  I found it on overstock.com for $50, all i can hope is that it arrives before Christmas!  He knows about the flight bag but not about Planet Earth, I really hope that he likes it.  I’m dying to know what I am getting still!  i think he got me some pearls while he was in Taiwan(because I asked for some and figured they’d be cheaper there, hahahaha) but no idea what else is coming.  I’d really LOVE a treadmill but we’ll see. 🙂

Been sending a few e-mails back and forth with some co-workers this week, seems like my boss had a pretty rough week without me at work.  Job security is always a good thing, right?  ðŸ˜‰  I had actually been e-mailing him on Thursday when he sent me a message back asking if he could ask me something work related so I just gave him a call and he was so surprised to hear me on the other end of the phone.  I walked him through something as best as I could over the phone and gave him a little relief.  He joked about coming up with some kind of procedure for when Amelia is On Vacation.  He’s a hoot. 🙂

Anywho I guess that is all from me for now.  I’ll leave you with another stolen picture from Matt’s fb.

This is our Christmas Tree, Roosevelt. 🙂

Later taters, hope you are all well. 🙂

*Here is a picture of our completed kitchen.  I am looking for a bakers rack or something to get to put along side the wall – we’ll see…

Your house is so cute 🙂 Cant wait for the final product pics!

Pleased to meet you, Roosevelt. Haha, I was going to say, “No way was Planet Earth $30!” Ooo, we bought that at the library; I should check it out. I dunno if you got my texts bc my phone was being weird, but you bought me a coffee grinder for my birthday. 🙂 I bought an espresso machine over a year ago and have yet to use it because I don’t have a coffee grinder and it keptfalling to the bottom of my priority list. Thanks! :o) Oh, and you also got me a replacement for a CD I really like but lost ages ago, and then REALLY lost when my old computer died. (The Swell Season’s self-titled). Thanks for that, too! Love you, have a safe trip home!

oooh look at how roomy that kitchen is.

paint really does go a long way- it’s insane. i think bakers rack would be perfect for that open wall. would help balance it out. maybe some funky kitchen pics, too.
