Happy 4th of July!

Today has been productive!  Well, up until now…I just paused the productivity button for a quick OD break.

Went to the Ikea in Woodbridge today(Which was Stephie-O’s idea!  She is fabulous and I adore her. 🙂 ) and bought a dresser, a little shelf unit for the closet, a basket(for my knitting things) and a couple of hanging shoe racks to further organize the closet.  I’m amidst putting the dresser together but realized I was putting something in backwards and now I have a little metal screw thingy stuck in the hole(man that sounds GREAT) and am looking around for something skinny, long and hard.  Hee-hee, I am full of sexual innuendos tonight!  I tried using one of Matt’s super magnets but alas that didn’t take to the screw to well so I’m still a-huntin’.  Mmmm beer, too.

We were both starvin’ Marvins after our excursion to Ikea so we stopped and had dinner at Famous Dave’s.  Pretty good!  I haven’t had a giant BBQ meal in ages and have lots of left-overs for later.  Then we drove home, Matt went to put in some OT(boo) and I was left here to put together the new furniture.  Too bad I’m an idiot otherwise I’d probably be almost done by now.  Well that and I still need to locate a hammer, I can’t see much out in the closet on the porch as there is no light in the damn room and I’m afraid of running into gross bugs.  They don’t even have to be gross bugs, just bugs in general.  Mainly those who are assholes and bite.  Anywho…

I checked out craigslist for some kittens and found a lady giving away 3 of them here in Man’s Asses.  I e-mailed her and got some pictures and they are CUTE!  She’s had several calls and e-mails so far about them and it’s a first come first serve thing.  So hopefully we’ll get one of them, the little black and white boy is adorable but the little calico girl is too.  I’d also take the 3rd who is a plain black male.  Okay so what I’m saying is I’m not going to be picky.  Since Matteo is at work I forwarded the pictures incase he gets out of the fab before he gets home to give them the once over.  I’m glad he finally gave in on the kitten thing.  🙂

Still have no plans for the 4th.  That’s okay, I am sure we will run into something fun.  I’m also pretty excited about the launch of Discovery even with the foam issue.  I just hope it’ll all work out the same it did last time the shuttle was launched.  I am hoping NASA will try to think of a new way to insulate the shuttle and keep our space explorers safe, the idea of them going up there and exploding makes me so sad and shuns so many people away from the space exploration program.  I guess these guys know what they are getting into and every step we take is a risk in one form or another, it’s just the judgement that comes afterward that sucks.

Worked OT last night.  Working on E shift is like a different kind of ball game.  I know a few of the people from them working OT on my shift so that is nice and the lead-op is a cool kid.  They are all pretty cool people it’s just very different from my shift.  I guess after spending so much time together you kind of get used to each other quickly and the way things run and just expect it to be like that all of the time.  Nic, the supervisor, told me he wanted to fire me from my shift so I’d work on his.  Hehe, that made me laugh pretty good.  I enjoy my co-workers company and I like the nights I work.  I am gearing up for football season to start already and this year I shouldn’t miss any of the games I want to see because I will never be working on those days!  Last night was just crazy as they stuck me on a tool set that I know little to nothing about so I was out of my comfort zone as Patrick put it.  It wasn’t a bad thing per-say but I had 20+ tools to watch, a pager to carry around, and just trying to keep up with everything was a wee bit overwhelming.  I was relieved to see the end of the shift come and will be glad to get back to my babies(tools) this week.  I’m ready for some new training but I think that the set that I work on will always be my favorites.

Ho-hum.  Need to go to H&M tomorrow to return a shirt I bought last week.  I like the shirt but eh I think I could find something that I might like more.  I’m amidst a search for cargo pants for me as well.  Not cropped cargos, regular cargos!  I have a pair from Old Navy but I was a dumb ass and ordered regular inseam instead of long and their pants seem to run a little short on me so they aren’t as long as I like pants to be.  I’m a freak, what can I say.  I hate being in-between, I’m either too tall for something or too short….there is no happy middle ground!

I suppose it’s time to get back to work, hopefully I’ll get the damn thing up by the time Matt gets home from work.  Later taters, Happy 4th of July to all of you!  Be safe and have fun.  🙂
