A little catch-up and some pics.

Hi there.  It has been a while since I updated!  I will play catch-up in an unorganized fashion.

Matt and I ran in our first 5K race last week.  His time was 23 minutes and some odd seconds and mine was 34 minutes and some odd seconds.  I have a lot to work on. 😉  All things considered I missed out on 3 weeks of training due to my bum knee so I am just happy I finished.  I think Matt’s office is running another 5K in September so I have a goal to train for.

The knee problem was fixed by getting some inserts for my shoes.  I also started using a brace specifically for Runner’s Knee.  Helps a lot, I still get the stabs of pain but it’s not very consistent and my knee doesn’t hurt for days afterward either.

After our race last Sunday Matt and I flew out to Colorado to have a short but sweet visit with his family on the ranch.  Had a great time with Toby, Jess and the kids and went camping with Matt’s dad and step-mom.  Always marvel in how I much I forget how dry it is out west.

I was covered in dirt and trying to show off my mustache:

Nice view from 10,000 feet.

Jess and I got pedicures on Wednesday afternoon and found out that a few hours after we’d left the salon it had burned down due to an exploding boiler.  I feel so sad for all of the girls that worked there – they were planning on heading to Las Vegas for a wedding that evening and were so excited about it.  I really hope that everything is going to be okay for all of them!

Micron was selling discounted King’s Dominion tickets so I picked up 3 of them a few weeks ago.  Planning on hitting up the amusement/water park next Monday with a couple of co-workers.  Pretty excited about it!

Work is work.  Despite working with a lot of engineers I still feel as if I am surrounded by really dumb smart people.  Does that make any sense?  I am so tired of test wafers, too.

This house is a disaster.  I need to clean the bedroom, the bathroom and the living room.  Maybe I will work on one of those things after I finish my cup of coffee…  I have all of these clothes all over the bedroom on the floor that need to be packed up and dropped off at Good Will.  I am such a pack-rat when it comes to clothing!

I think in my last entry I wrote about purchasing a bottle of Acqua di Gioia via E-Bay.  I love love love it and it was worth every penny spent.

I left work early last Saturday on the 4th knowing I had a bunch of stuff I had to do at home in order to get ready for the 5K the next morning and to fly out to CO.  Johnny 5 was out at the wine festival not too far from my house and kept temping me with pictures of him and Benny BooBooBooBooBooBear.

Ben looking rather impish(as usual, he’s so naughty) and Johnny 5 flashing his hang 10(fitting since he is from Hawaii):

I was sad they were having so much fun without me:

Johnny and I often send each other pictures of beer and food that we are consuming without each other present but I will spare you those. 🙂  Although, I DID really enjoy this beer at Denver International Airport:

Okay I do believe that is enough from me today.  I need to catch up on all of you people now!  I am sorry I haven’t been around much, I tend to read updates on my phone but don’t get around to noting at that point.  I’m going to work on that this weekend. 🙂  Later taters!

You’ve been busy! Congrats on the 5k! I could never do one of those…I’m just not a runner. And sounds like CO was a fun trip (aside from the nail salon fire). Glad life is treating you well! 🙂

Props on the 5k! I think I have a lot of breathing (possibly allergy/asthma) issues that make it hard for me to run long distance. I’m sure if I figured those out and trained myself I might be able to do it, but it sounds like a far off goal at this point in time. I love the beer pictures! Those have to be the best. Ashley

Congrats on the 5K! So much better than I could do! 🙂

That salon situation is crazy. I’m glad you had fun in Colorado, though!

Congrats on the 5k!

WHOOHOO! Good for you on the 5k! I bet that feels awesome to have accomplished that. 🙂

Be careful at the Denver International Airport. It is evil and satanic and there are phalli everywhere. http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2011/06/11/the-ridiculist-william-tapley-again/

And congrats on all the running!! I need to be a runner. Mostly because many of my clothes no longer fit.

ryn: can I just say first that I love that you take the time to read my entries – my long, wordy entries, and I actually feel that you are LISTENING and not judging? Thank you for that!! It was definitely interesting being in there, even for someone as open as me, but it was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back even if just to watch more. I don’t believe they tape. That would bea serious invasion of privacy. You’re not allowed to bring in anything — phones, cameras — that can record anything. We actually haven’t had much sex since because it’s hard with Ria and Jackie here, and then right when they left I got my period, which is now ending. I can’t wait though!! 😀

Awesome job on the 5K! I did one once and did about the same as you. I just don’t think I could ever pick up my speed, but I guess the point is doing it. So glad you had such a fun vacay. It is so so beautiful there!

RYN: Do you have an Android phone? Download the Pandora app and use that baby on your phone (in rotation with your iPod of course). That’s what I used to do before I downgraded back to a 1.6 version of Android on the phone I have right now. I’ll be glad to have Pandora back when I get a new phone.

ryn: It can get better or worse Just need lots of practicing and I need to really listen to my body. I sound horrible when im running or any kind of excerise People think im dying with the sounds that come out Which is why it embarasses me to workout in a gym Because i cant help the way i breathe. And i always take my inhaler Just in case.

Thanks for the note! This seems to be the most recent entry that I can comment on… sorry about that. But yeah, I’m realizing more all the time how lucky I am to have found this guy.
