Today was The Longest Day Ever.  Seriously.  It was busy and stressful yet time was like "Doot-de-doo.  Oh, look.  A flower.  I shall stop and smell it."  UGH.  We lots of little issues here and there and I swear that people forget that I’m not the only person in Wet Process.  I was asking my co-workers what it is they do when I take vacation time because I get direct pages to do stuff all of the time!  I am a go to girl and I know that and I take that as a HUGE compliment but some days, much like today, I am busy filling 3 roles at once and just don’t have time for tasks that anyone else that I work with is capable of.  Blaaargh.

Anyway, the day ended on a high note with a fab evacuation down to the cafeteria because we had a server issue and seemed to have lost our gas/chemical leak monitoring system.  This is always a huge deal because of the nasty chemicals that we work with.  The funny thing was that there were NO alarms, strobes or horns, it was strictly word of mouth "get out of the fab now" kind of thing.  NOT exactly the safest way to do things considering people can be ANYWHERE in that building.  You can be behind a tool, in a tool, down way at the end of the fab in a corner…  I was actually getting ready to walk out and go home(because my shift was up) when I realized I hadn’t seen Mark leave the fab.  He had stayed upstairs late after his passdown finishing some work on a tool and I went back to make sure he wasn’t in a utility zone behind the tools.  I checked behind the tools in Bay 6 and then moved over to Bay 7 where I found some VENDORS working behind our new install tool.  I called out to them but they ignored me so I walked behind one and tapped his shoulder.  He looked at me like I was on crack.  Then he shook his head at me and I quickly realized he didn’t speak English(the company that we bought the tool from, DNS, is based in Japan I believe).  I motioned that I would be right back and went to check where I thought Mark would be, didn’t see him and then walked back.  I motioned for him to follow me and pointed at his co-worker that was busy crawling around on the floor hooking up some cables.  I got them both to follow me out of the fab and when we started to de-gown I think they got the point that no one was upstairs, haha.  I left after bumping into a few people and went to have a beer at a new place across the street from Micron with some co-workers.  Good times.

I have a 4 day weekend now buuuut not really.  There was OT available this week so I took the slot on Monday and split Wednesday with Angel so that’s an extra 18 hours to tack onto my usual 36 for my short week.  I hope that the OT continues to be needed, I was considering getting a part time retail job for the holiday season but if I can just work a shift or so of OT every other week that would make up for just working on my days off.  Sometimes putting the time into the OT sucks but come payday it makes you feel pretty good to have that little extra on there.

Wow it is after 10 already!  I am surprised that I’m still up – I was soooooo tired today.  I guess I’ll finish this up and then go hit the hay.  Later taters. 🙂
