Well now, what can I say? I¡¯m tired. What¡¯s new? The kids are sick, but that comes along when the weather goes from 85 to 40 to 75 in four days.
I took Jesse to see Mom on Thursday. She still had several tubes and machines hooked up. It irked him, I think. He asked Dad to wait out in the hall with him. Mom was dopey so she didn¡¯t know what was going on. I¡¯m glad. I¡¯m afraid that it would hurt her feeling if she knew he was scared to be with her.
Her surgery went well. They took out her ovaries and uterus and a few more things. There were tumors on each ovary and all over her uterus. Then there were several floating along her intestines, not attached, but beside. Her intestines were really okay. The doctor couldn¡¯t get to her liver though, it was too far up under her ribs to get to. He said that the chemo should take care of the liver.
Her incision runs from the bottom of her rib cage to the pubic bone. My Mom isn¡¯t a small woman so there was quite a bit to go through. I¡¯d say its about twenty-four inches long. Its going to take a while to heal up. She has to heal for a while, possibly four weeks, before she can start chemo.
Mom¡¯s oncologist came in yesterday. It was basically just to meet Mom since the pathology isn¡¯t back yet. When the pathology does come back, on Monday or Tuesday, they will talk more about chemo and whatever else goes along with it. The oncologist was the one that cared for my Mamaw for nine years, up until she passed away. We have known him since I was probably six or seven. I trust him.
I¡¯m going to take a nap. ¢½
Y’all take care and hug those babies tight.
