Thank You

She is much better now.  Okay,not much better, but better.  We went to the ER yesterday.  I couldn’t get my doctor’s office to answer the phone, so we went straight to the ER.  I was freaking out.  They took her straight back from the waiting room because she was so listless.  She was geting dehydrated.  She had lost four ounces since I took her to the doctor on Monday.  The ER doc told me there have been tons of kids coming in with this stomach bug.  She got pissed off when he went to examine her and perked up enough to wiggle away from him.  He got her to drink a full six ounces of Enfamil’s form of Pedilyte.  She liked the way it tasted.  After we got that in her, she was alert enough to throw a fit.  We got released with a pescription for Pedialyte (with a perscription Medicaid will pay).  She wouldn’t drnk the Pedilyte.  She really hates it.  She doesn’t like apple juice.  I thought all kids liked apple juice.  Now she is drinking gatorade that I have watered down.  She also is taking a coupleof sips of tea.

She has basically slept all day.  I guess this bug is really taking its toll on her.  When she does wake up she is doing stuff.  She threw a fit for Daddy.  He walked by without picking her up and that is a sin as we all know.  I think she is beginning to feel a bit better.  We got a giggle a while ago.  There haven’t been giggles since last Thursday.

Why does the world come to a hault when your child is sick.  Why isn’t there a warning n that manual?  Oh wait, I never got that how to be perfect parent manual.  Who stole my copy?

I can’t thank y’all enough for your thoughts and prayers.  I’ve never had so many notes of concern.  Thank you for your worry.  Thank you for your advice.  Thank you for just reading and caring.  Thank you all. 

Beth, I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t called me.  Its amazing to have you for a friend.  One of these days we’ll be face to face.  Thank you.
