38 Weeks 3 Days

The doctor appointment this morning was scary mainly because I didn’t know exactly what to expect. The doctor let the student come in and do the exam first. I still measure big. She thought that I was dilated to a two, but I’m really not dilated at all. This is only her third week of practicing, so she is way to gentle. Nice for me, since the OB is a little rough, but he had to reach a good deal up in there to feel the head. I’m sure she will make a wonderful OB one of these day. Then I had another sonogram. It was horrible. She is so squished up that you can’t see a thing. Oh, and my child can turn her butt to a sonogram. Isn’t that lovely? She has already learned how to moon us. Okay, so more to the point, the tech said she was only measuring 7lbs 10oz. That wasn’t to big he said, but that the measurements are usually off this far along because she is folded up, so could really be 9 pounds for all he knows. The PA said that was good, and was going to let me go another week, but then the actual OB came in and went through my chart. He set me up to be induced starting Wednesday night. I have to check in the hospital at 5 in the evening and they will start cervidil (sp?) to make my cervix do something. Then I guess we move on from there. She will probably be born sometime on Thursday. Woohooo!!!!!! Tax Day!!!!! Okay, I am off to find out exactly what that cervadil is. Y’all have a blessed day. I’ll talk at y’all later.
