No Mirrors
My inhibitions are
splattered on the pavement;
I am not degraded,
I am not lost,
nor am I whole.
I do not find myself
in you because we
do not mirror each other;
not like the past,
not like blue eyes.
Explosions beneath my skin,
like pins and needles,
like I’m traveling down
a sapphire waterfall
highlighted by a smiling
moon, bright enough
to see your silhouette
at the bottom.
I echo your thoughts
as they fall like tears
into my palm,
swimming upstream
until they reach
my heart.
My mouth will not speak these words; it is too soon to be definitive.
But my soul is all aflutter, my heart is racing a million miles an hour, your touch is a thrill. And when that all fades away, my soul will continue to try to hold your hand. Seems that way.
That is all.
Amanda.
fuucking hold onto that sh-t.
