I’m Addicted..Giving In To You **trigger warning**
Words aren’t worth much anymore, did you ever notice that? Someone will say that they love you, and they won’t even mean it. The question is, then why tell me at all?
The above statement has nothing to do with anyone in my life; it’s just a fact of life.
My note to Kayla ended up leaving her surprised, and not angry. She was definitely happy that I came to her, and I said I could talk to her about these things whenever. She said about the cutting, that it was really sad.
With cutting, it’s difficult… not only for the cutter but the friends, too.
As a friend, what can you do? It’s virtually impossible to help them. You can’t be around them at all times, prying the razorblade from their fingers, nor would it be helpful to confiscate their weapons of arm destruction. You may be thinking that taking away their "tools" is going to aid them in getting better. But guess what? There are a lot of sharp objects in the world, and it’s impossible to take them all away. So what are you really doing? Pissing off the cutter. That’s all.
What’s the best way to approach a sick person? I will bet that it’s not stomping in there and ordering them around – no. It’s usually offering them support, forgiving them for their mistakes, and not getting in their faces about it.
Leave the cutters alone. Don’t make fun of them and don’t piss them off.
Guess what, you’re no better than they are… contrary to what you think.
It’s the same with drug addicts, cutters, alcoholics, smokers, everything.
You’re comitting suicide, too, only more slowly.
Don’t patronize.
