American Idol: As I Heard It! (Finals: Week 2)

At least I think it’s week 2…whatever.

Michael Sarver — ?? — Ok, I hated the song and really hate that kind of country music, but I guess he sang it as well as it could be sung.  I had to fast forward through it or start torturing the Chin.
 
Allison — Blame It on Your Heart — She has such a solid, strong voice and great command of the stage.  She was having a good time and did well.  Good for her.
 
Kris — To Make You Feel My Love — Uh, it’s not a Garth Brooks song, dude — Bob Dylan wrote and performed it, Garth just covered it.  Get it right or you’re out of there!  Now that I got that out of my system, this is a sweet song and he was fine.  He just doesn’t light my fire.  I think it would have been more interesting if Allison had sung this.
 
Lil — Independence Day — I didn’t really care for this.  And I’m having trouble concentrating on the show.
 
Adam — Ring of Fire — Is he trying to channel Dilana?  Some of the notes sounded off.  This didn’t work for me at all.  I give him credit for trying to do something different but it’s not working for me.
 
Scott — Wild Angels — Boring.
 
Alexis — Jolene — Hmm, parts of this I liked and other parts didn’t work for me.
 
Danny — Jesus Take the Wheel — Why did he pick that song? I found it boring until he hit the chorus.
 
Anoop — You Were Always on My Mind — Lovely choice.  Nice performance but I didn’t love it as much as the judges did.
 
Megan — I Go Walking after Midnight — This girl is so pretty and I find her highly amusing.  A couple of funky notes here and there, but I liked it.  It was different.  She’s an odd bird.  I wish she’d sing up a little higher though.
 
Matt — ?? — Ok, I went back and listened to this 3 times and still drifted away.  I don’t know how he did as I couldn’t force myself to try it a 4th time.  Sorry, Matt.
 
Well, most of them bored me tonight so I don’t care who goes home.
