American Idol: As I Heard It! (Final Four)
Adam — Whole Lotta Love — Finally he’s singing the genre I KNEW he was meant for. Channelling Robert Plant. It’s kind of funny because playing with a band, he seems kind of soft, a bit girly to me, and not Rock God Strong — that’s kind of surprising. Ok, he wasn’t quite as good as Plant, not as weighty, but he certainly has the vocal range for the song. I just love the end to this song. I’m so glad they’re doing rock — FINALLY!!! Randy’s right, this kicked the Broadway Musical right out of him. Hopefully he can keep it up. And no, Kara, he’s not a rock god — not yet. But damn, he did blow me away with his performance. Way to go Adam! No way anyone is beating you tonight. Not happening. Also? Oddly enough to me, this dude REEKS fucking sex appeal. He drips it…especially when he’s in his element. Again, wow. And I didn’t WANT to like him either.
Allison — Cry Baby — Wow, another great song. It started off a bit iffy but she then she got into it. The second verse was much better than the first. Good for her — well done and it suited her style. Yes, Piece of My Heart might have been better, but then would they have told her she was singing an iconic song. Paula looks trashed.
Kris & Danny — Renegade — Kris’ voice sounded better — more current. Danny sounded very Blood Sweat & Tears, oldie’s style, not my thing, dawg.
Kris — Come Together — Not my favorite Beatles song on its own, although I used to love listening to John’s voice on it, so it’s hard for me to like this. I do like the way Kris used his voice, so that’s a plus. I guess. Meh.
Danny — Dream On — Another great choice, but this isn’t working for me. Not one bit. Pitchy and he looks out of his element. Paula, sit your ass down! What the hell Danny, where did you go?
Allison & Adam — Slow Ride — Not one of my favorite songs. Watching their bodies move on stage, Allison was much more natural — that surprised me. This was a much better duet — it worked.
Who goes home tomorrow? Sorry, but for me, it’s you Danny. You my dear, have lost me. Love ya still, you’re a great man, but you’ve blown it in my eyes.
So what did you all think?
