American Idol: As I Heard It!

Danny Gokey — Stand by Me — That was different and nice.  I liked the first half better than the second half.  It’s hard for me to be objective when ‘critiquing’ Danny because I just have a real fondness for the guy.  But I try.
 
Kris — All She Wants to Dance — I didn’t care for this.
 
Lil — What’s Love Got to Do with It — Why is she doing Tina’s dance?  Could she try to conjure up Tina any more than that?  She’s even sticking her butt out like TT.  She sang it well though — finally, she’s getting back to what she does best.  There were a couple of odd notes here and there.  Poor thing, I think she’s totally lost now and can’t climb out of this funk.
 
Anoop — True Colors — Interesting choice.  Well song but I don’t know — it didn’t excite me.
 
Scott — The Search Is Over — It was fine for karaoke but nothing special.  He’s really trying but he just shouldn’t be there.
 
Allison — I Can’t Make You Love Me — Well, that’s a great song choice, and it was a good, mature performance.  I wish she’d get rid of the clown hair — I can’t take her seriously with it.  

Why, I really want to know, why do girls do that?  No one, and I do mean NO ONE looks good with farking Kool-aid colored hair.  And please, what’s teh new thing with chicks shaving off their eyebrows and drawing them back in?
 
Matt — Part-time Lovers — I don’t care for this, but he did it in a kind of interesting way.  That’s his thing and he does it well.
 
Adam — Damn it, my TiVo cut him off so I had to watch him on a lousy youtube video, damn it!!  Sounded good.  Wish I could have seen it on TV.  During auditions, I picked Gokey to win, and I still want him to win.  But Adam is clearly becoming this season’s winner — he’s got the versatility, and he appeals to all those young girls who vote the most.  Good for him.  He can sing and he has terrific vocal control.
 
My bottom 3?  Kris, Scott and Danny (sorry Danny!).
