Stop! Thief!

I was standing in the door way at work watching for the bus that brings one of our little guys to program. I could see part of the parking lot from where I was standing, my car was parked just out of sight- as was the vehicle of the person I work with. As I waited for the bus to come, I could hear noises coming from the parking lot, I assumed it was someone getting in/out of their car. When the bus came, I walked out the side walk and the parking lot came into view. There was a man- tall and skinny wearing black clothes and trying to break into my co-workers van. I screamed at him- "HEY!" and then back at the door "K, SOMEONE IS TRYING TO BREAK INTO YOUR VAN". He looked at me and scoffed and pulled a gun from his pocket. K ran out the door and stopped in her tracks. The man, spooked, started backing away from the cars. I ducked into the bus and pulled out my cell phone, the bus driver was on his radio describing the man. I dialed 911 and the man shot once into the air and ran around the corner and down the block. I waited on the bus until I was sure he had gone, and then got the child into the building as quickly as possible. Down the block, a car alarm was going off and shortly after, we heard the sound of police sirens roaring down main street. More gun shots were fired and police were everywhere. We sat in the building for what seemed like ages before someone came to our door.

THAT would’ve made an interesting story for today’s entry. Too bad it’s not entirely true.

But some douche bag really did try to break into my co-workers van. He ran away like a little girl.
