Radio

 Dear Diary;

I do not understand this.

I like silence. I do. I can appreciate it. When I am alone in the house (which doesn’t happen very often.. UGH) I turn off the radio that is almost always blaring in the kitchen. My parents turn it on in the morning when they are eating their breakfast and whatnot, which is fine, but they leave it on when/if they both leave. Every single morning when I wake up, I can hear the radio in the kitchen from my bedroom- with the door closed. It’s loud enough that you can easily hear it from any point in the house- including the basement. It’s not the volume though, that irritates me.

As I said, I turn it of when I’m the only one here because quite frankly, I don’t want to listen to country music (the same songs, over and over and over) all day- especially when I’m sitting in my room reading, or looking for jobs online or watching tv. There’s no point to it being on. This morning I woke up and no one was home. YES!!!! The very first thing I did (besides checking the fire) was turn off the damn blaring radio.

Around noon as I was getting in the shower, I heard my dad come in. Shitty. I went about my business, showered and when I got out I could hear the radio blaring from the kitchen again. I mean… it’s fine- if he wants to sit there and listen to the radio and have his lunch or whatever.. but is that what he did? NO!  He turned on the radio and then directly to the living room and turned on the television. 

COME ON!!! 

I just don’t understand that.

So now I’m sitting in my room, door closed and typing this and I can hear the radio in the kitchen as clear as a bell while he sits out there watching t.v. What was the point of turning it back on?
