NJM 25- Incessant beeping.

 Dear Diary;

I spent the morning wrapping presents and making cookies. I even turned on some Christmas music while I baked and it made the whole experience that much more satisfying. Not the corny Christmas music either- the good stuff. The jazzy stuff that makes you feel like you should be at a swanky dinner party or sitting in front of a fire place with a bottle of wine.

Did I say bottle? I meant glass.

There’s a smoke detector in the basement that is beeping incessantly. It’s been beeping for a few days now, but the beeps are closer together and louder now. I’d change the battery, but my dad keeps them locked up somewhere. No, I’m not kidding. Batteries are like Gold around here.

My brother is coming home tonight! I think he’s only staying until Saturday morning, and we practically had to beg him to come and offer him good, home cooked meals.. but he’s coming!

It’s cold today, but not in this house. This house is NEVER cold when dad’s here. We have a wood burning stove in the basement and he keeps that thing so stoked it feels like a sauna in here sometimes.

I had a dream last night that I was a surgeon. It was strange.

Someone asked me yesterday if I had three jobs. Technically, no. I only have two, and I work ALL 5 days next week! Woo Money! (except not "woo money".. because of that whole mess I talked about yesterday).

I’m off. Ta.

Ah, got it. But really… sounds like a 3 ring circus there!!! 😛

You can take the battery out of the smoke detector and it will stop beeping. Of course, the smoke detector won’t work without the battery in it. I’m not sure if they still work once the battery starts to die anyway, though. I love that jazzy Christmas music you’re talking about. Woot for money!!!
