Look, the number changed!

Dear Diary;

HI EVERYONE!!!!!

I’m home from camp for another day and a half. It’s almost over- one week left and then I might be off to work at the Outdoor center in O-town.

My birthday was this week- Thursday the 19th to be exact. My day at camp was pretty awesome too, which was great. I got up and went to Dodie’s cabin for our morning resource meeting and as soon as I opened the door she yelled HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the other room. It was followed by a big sign in the dining hall that our head chef, Liz, made. There’s a sign that says "breakfast … " and lists what we’re having and what hoppers need to set the tables- the sign said "Breakfast/day of Meghan’s birth" and then there was a big
"happy birthday Meghan" at the bottom too. EVERY camper at camp signed a birthday card that was made for me and just about every single person said happy birthday to me EVERY time they saw me. I ended up getting an invite to sit with a cabin at dinner for a "formal" meal and the entire dining hall sang happy birthday to me at dessert and I got a cupcake with some candles. After everyone (kids) went to bed- resource met up in the dining hall and Liz had made me a huge, 3 tiered cake with neon icing! Dodie got me a present- which was chocolate (not sure why) and I almost received an Easy Bake Oven from the dump, too!

Okay, so here’s the dump story…

I was sitting at the stage the night before my birthday and I was talking to Liz who had originally got the oven from the dump. I looked at her and said "really Liz… an easy bake oven from the DUMP?" and was joking around with her about how gross it was and what she planned to cook with it. It wasn’t until later that she told me she had picked it up for me as a gag birthday present. It just made it all that much funnier, in my opinion.

Overall, it was a pretty great day, I’d say. I was up at 6:45am and didn’t go to bed until about 1:30am the next morning.

The week in general was pretty epic. There were a lot of great costumes (I was the pink panther) and some stellar puppets who hosted campfire (and did wellness check-outs). This probably makes no sense, but it’s more for my own memory than anything.

I need sleep now. Shopping tomorrow.
