DePhoMo 8 – Cats and Dogs and Horses, oh my!

Dear Diary; 

Man I had fun with this one! Animals are freaking awesome.

Every year I try to get a Christmas picture of Molly (to your right) and Boots (below). The first year, I stuck a Santa hat on the Moller and let Booter chew on some candy canes. It turned out pretty cute, so I made Christmas cards out of them for our family. Last year I used a fabric ribbon bow on Mol. This year, I couldn’t find anything! So I went to the "wrapping room" and grabbed some ribbon to make a bow out of. It worked out O.K. I think.

This year I decided to freak your freak. That’s right, not only do you get a Christmas picture of Molly and Boots, but you ALSO get one of the ol’ grey mare! I took the ribbon outside into the fresh winter wonderland (the first snow-fall that stuck was yesterday) and decorated Lacey. The sun was in her eyes, so she didn’t open them for the pictures- but it’s still pretty cute.

After I got the horse involved, I puttered around with my camera outside for a while. I re-shot the "shine" picture and ended up capturing an animal in it, which was pretty sweet. I’ll post that too so you can see.

My walk continued out the driveway where I saw even more evidence of animals. I channeled my best Elmer Fudd (be vewy, vewy quiet… I’m hunting wabbits!)and tried to distract the dog so she wouldn’t ruin them all before I could get my camera out of the bag.

My winter photo walk ended with a few nature shots; you know, the one I crapped out on yesterday. It reminded me that I need to start looking for the perfect winter photograph for that contest I was going to enter. Now that there is some snow on the ground I can get working it. I have a feeling I’ll need to actually leave the property for that though because there isn’t a lot to inspire me around here.
