Day one.

Dear Diary;

Ugh. My aunt lied to me.

Okay, so I was actually in a decent mood this morning because I was thinking to myself that this job would be fantastic. It would be nothing like working at the last group home and I would get along with the staff and maybe even *gasp* ENJOY working. I had pumped myself up and I felt like I could walk into this place and have a decent day.

Boy was I wrong.

Those gum smacking, cell phone texting, bad language using, barely adult, lazy ass staff drove me NUTS. Just thinking about it all, I don’t even know if I want to get into it right now. I’m so exhausted from doing NOTHING I feel like taking a nap.

I’ll do point form
– Dora The Explorer cups for adults?
– Staff constantly checking their cell phones- the phone NEVER left their hand
– Yelling at the residents for doing…. nothing.
– Poor quality of life…
– Staff spend more time chatting about the parties they go to then interacting with residents
– Short tempered staff screaming and giving "time outs" for silly things like them asking a question.
– Their daily routine is boring and does nothing for them
– the only productive thing I did was fold laundry.

I could go on.

My day went like this:
8:45am- arrived
8:45-9:30am – sat downstairs and flipped through a staff log book. – staff texted
9:30am- walked to "day program" at second house down the road
9:35am – sat around while residents did "day program work"  (searchwords, mazes, some math) and staff texted.
11:30am – sat around while they ate lunch – staff texted.
11:40am – moved to a different room where we SAT AROUND and watched a movie – staff texted
1:30pm – drove back to the other house
1:35pm – SAT AROUND until 2pm – staff texted, I folded laundry.
2pm – got the fuck out of there.

I gotta go chill out.
