I found that at the diary of Woman of many hats; and of course in true form had to take it but … sigh … although it is an aspiration, it is not yet a reality, I fear. However, this doesn’t stop me from blathering. Happy Sunday (aka Laundry Day around these parts).

Gobsmacked

I know the truth
brazen thing that it is
not easy even in its simplicity
but necessary
because it is what is which is what it is
and nothing alters it
the truth
nothing sullies it or shines it
or makes it ever less than
or more than
what it is

The truth is myriad
multifaceted and layered
your truth and mine and ours
all just so simply being
the only road to freedom
when I stare it in the face
it sets my soul free
and sometimes it stabs me
slaps me
startles and shocks me
requires of me greater effort
drawing on my reserves
past that point too

It is silent and it is thunderingly loud
sweet and bitter and sour
but really
forever and ever and evermore
it really (real) (true) (plain)
just is

Where I am going

In the gleam
the glistening of the wood
shines all that I have been given
and all my days
all that I am
can never be enough
to match that glowing
solid
absolute beautiful perfection

But the goal is there
shining from beyond the trees
far off in the distance
and my found path
the road to take
leads to only one place
all my resources
needed
moving toward that soft shimmer

I’m Ichi too ! I know you checked the one about writing poems in your diary 🙂 Truth – a subject I’ve pondered many times. Fascinating subject. I find that our concept of ‘truth’ is changeable. It’s not a static thing. “Say not ‘I have found the truth, but rather, I have found a truth.'” Kahlil Gibran.

ooh the whitter about truth reminds me of a question a friend asked me – “are stop signs real, or just collective hallucinations?” i think they’re collective hallucinations. the entire idea of them is a concept. human brains make them more than they are. and the quizzie.. i’m “Happy Beauty” 🙂 hugs,

I got the same.. It does get a little tiring being considered the wise one all the time! I redid the test choosing things I would like to be.. and got “princess child” so I guess deep down I am just a sweet little brat. As for Truth?? It’s out there somewhere not always easy to pick these days.

This fits me well, actually.I enjoyed your thoughts re: truth… but am reminded of a line from a Don Henley song: “There’s three sides to every story: yours and mine and the cold, hard truth.”Also like XD, I find myself curious (nosey?) about the “other place” you mention.
